My boyfriend of seven years has been under employed b/c of a felony. While I know it is hard to locate employment b/c of his past., he continues to smoke marijuana making his cahnces slimmer. I tell him he needs to search for new employment b/c he only works PT and it is not enough to support the one child we have together, bills and my other two children (not his). I find myself caring us all the time and he feels no shame in letting me do so. I have been on him about this for a while as we recently moved into a larger home. I have been agressive about his job searches for the last two months. I am making plans to continue in w/o him (he babysitts the kids alot), I have changed the locks and not given him keys to my home or cars. I keep wishing he will find something but the reality is he might not or won't due to his own circumstances and laziness. Have I already given him to long or just throw his stuff out. It almost seems as though he dosen't care sometimes.

He doesn't care...if he can't even care about himself, he certainly can't care about you. You are being co-dependant to his stupidity right now. Cut him loose...tough love will be the only thing that will work in this situation.

His past backgorund is no excuse for using someone. We all probably know someone who has made mistakes in their lives however that does nto excuse bad beahvior. Glad you took the keys and now its time to move on until he gets some balls and really gets a job and becomes self sufficient. As long as he knows you are willing to pay the bills and support him he will continue this level of bad behavior.

Time to get serious and move on honey. This cat isn't going to change his spots. Picture yourself supporting him the rest of your life, because that's your reality.

You should have stopped it long ago. Tell him to not come around except to visit his kid. If he comes more often than is necessary, get a restraining order for stalking.

It's a hard choice , but I would move on. You need more for your kids then that.
