The real question is how young is young? Cause if we are talking about days or weeks old here, I think it is safe to say we are all evil (or at least anyone who can read this). But in actuality, the statement is that only the good die young. In other words, it is saying of those who die young are only of the good. It doesn't not say all of those who are good die young (that would be a little bit more morbid). So in a logical sense, no it does not say anything about old people, it simply says that those who die young are good. Those who die old may be good or evil.

Evil or good has nothing to do with death. Death is a phenomena which could happen to any person irrespective of age ,evil,good etc. and this phenomena has evaded a pragmatic and logical conclusion even by the greatest scientists of the world. so old people are not evil. I feel they are a blessing to others by their vast experience which will guide the youngsters.

hahaha!!! Not to offend anyone, but I've often thought about that myself.

If you've never noticed, alot of old people basicly turn back into babys before they die!!! Wearing dipers,wetting the bed, eating stuff thats mashed up or pureed,Can't walk, or have to hold on to something to walk, can't rember things, some can't talk anymore, chage the topic in a middle of a conversation, want everything about them, collect & hide little things (usually shiny), have to take naps,sleep more often. This is not the case for all old people, but there is alot of them like this.

i believe that young ones die because they accepted and wanted to help those around them with their life lessons ,so in a way they are good and sort of more enlightened then some of us ,i think older people our simply still working on life lessons in order to find their way so to speak to enlightment or God .
so the saying in a way has some truth too it ,but it is only the good die young and does not diminsh or suggest that because you are old that you somehow missed the mark it is simply your lessons our of a different sort is all .
