first issues first. how are you checking her temp? I say you need to verify it rectally. Use some lubrication and a plastic probe cover, obtainable in shops everywhere. Insert it a pair of a million/2 inch. Sounds deep? Thats why they call it a center temp and its the main precise. the traditional variety is approximately ninety 9-one hundred.4. yet while its 102 or greater suitable, she genuinely has a fever. Now, in case you will provide her drugs, visit the scientific expert and get a dosage chart. Or tell me what her weight is, and that i will inform you the way lots. From my chart. If the fever is severe, (104) attempt giving the two motrin and tylenol. motrin each 8 and tylenol each 4. Nip that fever interior the butt 2 procedures. ultimately, help her quiet down. take off her outfits and wrap a lose easy blanket round her. provide her a luke heat bath. permit her swing interior the breeze to sleep, and supply fairly some fluids. Its ok if she has lost her urge for food, she wont starve, in basic terms proceed to motivate fluids. Her ear an infection will go away, and her fever will too. Dont forget approximately to maintain on with up inclusive of your scientific expert in 2-3 days, i guess you have already got an appointment. If its no longer long gone then. rfile will possibly provide you antibiotics. yet maximum youngsters get greater efficient devoid of them. :)

first you need to see if he is teething. stick your finger back there and feel for a hardness on his gums. that would be his teeth. doctors will tell you teething does not make a child sick but i have never once met a mother who will agree. infants tylenol should help. as will popsicles. and it'll help with the teething too. watch it but if it continues for more than a few days, go to the doctor. btw, don't let all of these people who are going to say "why havnet' you taken him to the docotor yet?" make you feel like you did something wrong. at that age, a fever of 103 is no big deal. (that's when my kids ped. actually says you should start giving them the meds. somethign about giving his body and immune system a chance first.) just watch him and make sure he gets his tylenol on time. if the fever's still there monday call the doctor and ask what they want you to do.

Fever can be caused by teething. You can try a couple things, one you can alternate motrin every 8 hours and in between that give tylenol.... so motrin then in 4 hours tylenol then in 4 hours motrin and so on. Its not uncommon for a fever to reoccur and it usually always does at night. Something cool to drink or Popsicles also help to bring down the body temp. Its also never a bad idea to get the child in to see their Dr. at worse you will be doing it for nothing, at best it could be something you are stopping before it gets worse. There is always a reason for a fever, it just doesnt always mean an illness though.

As long as he is acting normal, you can let it go for 4-5 days. A temp of 102 is not high and does not need to be treated unless it bothers him. It could be caused by many things already listed, but also could be from a common cold. If the fever persists for more than 5 days, you can take him to the doc. If he stops drinking, starts pulling on ears, begins to get funny smelling urine, or acts like he has a sore throat, you can take him sooner. Be patient, give infant's Motrin if you need, and make sure he drinks plenty of fluids. Good Luck!

First off if the fever reaches103-104 and you can not get it down with in an hour take him to the Dr,er or meddi center{walk in clinic} where ever you can see a Dr sooner. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Many things can cause what appear to be mysterious fevers.Check for new teeth in his mouth, If not that are his ears sore, will he let you touch them? is he tugging on them? Often a high fever without other symptoms can be the onset of an ear infection,I would say that it is time to take him in to get checked anyway just to be sure.It could be viral, or anything else but as I said it is always better to be safe than sorry.

yes that happens in children often he may be teething as well which can give him a fever. Bath him in luke warm water and do not put to much clothes on him , tempa is good and just keep an eye on him if his cheeks are rosy that is often a sign of teething as well so don't worry. If it continues for more than 3 or 4 days then get him checked by the doctor. kids fevers usually get highter at night so don't worry you are doing the right things Good luck

Yeah my son had a fever for 2 days, with no other symptoms. I gave him children's Tylenol to lower the fever and watched him real close to see if any other symptoms came up. It was over a weekend period, and if he wouldn't have been better by Monday I would have taken him to the doctor. Monday came and he was fine, with no fever and has been find every since. I think if last more than a day or two then yes you should take him to the doctor or if any other symptoms come up.

yes, you betchya. Teething causes low grade fevers (102 is still considered low). It also creates a lot of saliva and mucus, which results in coughs or even runny noses.
Give him infants motrin or advil. Tylenol and other things based on acetamenaphin do not reduce swelling, and thats where the worst of the pain adn discomfort comes from when teething.
If he develops other issues, like the runs or no appitite, or spots on his chest or back, take him in and make sure its not something other than teething.

My oldest son used to scare me to death. He would run a high fever for no apparent reason. After numerous trips to the doctor I learned to give him baby aspirin and see if his fever went down. If not, we went to the doctor. The cough concerns me. I would definitely take him to the doctor. Better safe than sorry.
