It is overrated. It really shouldn't even be a target thing. Instead, think about the feelings behiund a relationship when ahving sex, whether or not it involves lossing ones virginity.

It may be important to family, but it is most important to you.
Best age? Start at 18 then add when you are ready and feel you are mature enough to handle it. Being in a relationship and moving away from home were two ways I matured by huge leaps. I worked with this young lady and she told me she really liked me, however she also told me she was a virgin. Though I would never sleep with her we are still friends after all these years and she is now married with a daughter. I think guys who are interested in virgins are either interested in a high ideal or have confidence issues. So if a guy asks you if you are a virgin, it may not be a good sign. This is your own decission and should require some thought. Coming here and asking the question was a start. Talk to mature friends you trust. Ask about their emotions before and after. Your decission is important.

I don't think there is an age for it, i would say if your with the right person and you feel this is the person you want to give it up too then that's the time to lose it. Virginity is impornant to you not to the guy i have heard that some don't even care about that but like i said that is up 2 u who u want to give it too. It is your body and your decision and don't ever lose your respect

Virginity is important.
No-one has a certain age to lose their virginity. It happens naturally when the right someone comes along.
Unfortunetly most young people go with anyone just to lose it. Or they say they do.
They do it to feel older and superior to there peers but in reality they make themselves look like slappers.

I think virginity is wonderful... I think it's a gift that can only be given once. So one has to make it count....
It's not about age being right or wrong. It's about whether you are with the right person. And usually the right person isn't someone from high school. So I think a person should be at least 18. I think they should hold out for that special someone ater that... and then give the most meaningful gift ...themselves. Their virginity.
As I said it can only be given once...

I think it's important and it should be special. You're only gonna loose it once, right?
I'm fourteen but i'm not gonna say 'no sex 'till i'm married' or 'he's hot i'm gonna go have sex with him right now'. I'm honestly really neverous about it, unlike most of my friends, so I'm gonna wait until i find some one i'm confortable enough with and that i actually want to remember for the rest of my life, whether i'm 15, 18 or 37 (of course if i start getting too old then it's time to rethink things...)

i guess it is good if you still have it and give it to the guy you marry or love but if you already lose it then why give is so much importance, the best age to lose it is not time but when you think you are responsible and mature enough to handle the consequences of it!

yes it's important... just because we are physically able to have sex at a young age doesn't mean we can emotionally or mentally handle the consequences. The best age is after 18 or even later when we are better able to handle it.
