My wife and I are retired, and have raised our first family with three children Then we adopted five young boys out of the state's foster system. They all have the same birth mother, they are mixed racially, we are white, they are mainly African American. I am particularly interested in what African American people think about white people adopting black children. We love them very much.

Who cares what everyone else thinks? If you love those children, by all means adopt them and give them a loving home, I am not African American, but I am pretty sure if they have a heart that they will feel the same way. Enjoy your family

I am not black but am of another race and I think it is awesome. Those children needed a home and love and it doesn't matter what race you or them are. And to be honest I don't think anyone is going to think bad about it. If anyone has a problem with transracail adoption, ask them how many children they have adopted. I think what you have done is amazing and I pray that you and your family are blessed.

Well, I am neither white nor black, but I am a minority. I think it is wonderful that you are doing this. There are a few obstacles when adopting another race, but you are giving a home to these kids and keeping them together, that far outweighs the race difference. Make sure you teach them about their background and everything will workout great.

Where would these children be without you... I commend you opening up your heart and home to not just one... but FIVE BOYS
There are so many unwanted children I think race shouldn't ever be consider... Now if someone of the childrens race was wanting them... I feel that they should be considered first because of culture not race...

Well although I am white, I think that there are 5 very fortuneate young boys that now have loving parents. Take the time to learn about the boys and their heritage with them.

Our world is lucky to have people like you and your spouse in it.

I am not African American, but I applaud you for adopting them TOGETHER, thank you, for the sake of the children.

I think the love is the most important. Finding additional role models for any child (adopted or otherwise) is always important, andyou may wish to look into that, perhaps through your church or child services.

inspect the books "interior Transracial Adoption" and "of their own Voices". great references, the two certainly one of them, that go into the complicated subjects that embody adopting transracially.

as long as you love them like your own. besides if they are going to get a better life than what they would have had, had you and your wife not adopted them, i say go ahead. good luck
