I picked up the tab for a couple of old ladies once, for breakfast. ANd I didn't expect a response as I left the joint before they knew.

Have you seen the movie "Pay It Forward"?
The li'l acts that we do could mean a lot to a person in need.
I usually do random acts of kindness to people who do not ask for it. Like a taxi driver who is kind. An old lady who needs extra amount for transportation. A bar of chocolate for a stranger's kid.
It is very refreshing to help and to be a blessing to others.

Letting a car out in front of you at an intersection or letting someone cut in front of you in line at the grocery store. Leaving quarters at the laundrymat or buying crayons when they are on sale and donating them to a school (asking the principal to make sure that kids who don't have much get them).
There are opportunities around us everyday. They don't have to be big. Just make a mental note when you think I wish....... and then do it.

I think almost everyone has: let someone in line in front of them, reached for something someone else couldn't reach, given a few cents to the person in front of them at the cash register, given the bigger piece of cake or pie or dish of ice cream, stepped aside for someone in a hurry ...
I once tried to get some old people to come share our Christmas, dinner, a present, photos, the whole smear ... no one would come! They could not believe I didn't want anything in return or to take something from them. (I cried for the way our society has scared the very ones who made our way of life possible.)

Okay.
Has anyone here, done a random act of kindness?
that aside, it is not the telling of the act that is important, just the act, as quietly and as anonymously as possible

I have paid the $1.00 toll for the driver behind me at a tollbooth a few times. It makes me happy to do this, and surprises the heck out of them! They usually pass me and wave or give me a thumbs up sign.

Well, I have done a lot of nice things for people. Fixing a plate of food for a neighbor, holding a door for an old lady, etc, etc.
