Ouch!! Yes, the toothache could easily be due to your sinuses. Your swollen sinuses are applying pressure to your nerves that go to your teeth and gums. If they only gave you an antibiotic, you might try over the counter sinus pills. You might also try a product like Mucinex. It thins the mucus so it will drain easier. Also try ibuprofen or a sinus medication that contains ibuprofen. It is an antinflammatory pain reliever. Just be careful what you take it they gave you more than just an antibiotic. You don't want to over medicate yourself. The good new is that most antibiotics work fairly well within 48 hours. You may find that you will be better in a short amount of time now that the infection is being treated. Good luck!

If there is a bit of inflammation in your gum, it could be becoz of plaque or tartar/calculus, or maybe something got stuck in between your teeth. If that's the reason then u just have to get the stuck food removed, check for any cavities and get cleaning done and u should be fine. In the meanwhile taqke some painkillers if there is too much of discomfort. i'm not sure but u may even have a pocket near the front tooth and food getting stuck there causes pain and inflammation too. Toothaches most commonly are caused because of cavities, especially when they become deep. Then u will have to go in for a root canal. Also if u happen to bite on something very hard, the tooth can sometimes fracture and cause toothache. Toothache can also be caused because of erupting Wisdom teeth, esp if there is no space for them to come out into the mouth. In such a case the pain would be referred to the ear, or the side of the head or face too. Or do u have any fillings in your teeth which are a bit high.. if so your tooth could ache because of that too. It's best to go to the dentist again and show him where u have the ache, get some x-rays if needed and do what the dentist suggests. Also its always good to floss regularly too for the health of your teeth and gums.

The facial nerves are interconnected. The sinus infection can affect different areas like your teeth or ears etc, however if you have a nasty toothache it is a good chance the infection found a weak point, cavity and you may need a dentist to get relief. Besides the pain killers try to locate that bad tooth area and use oil of cloves etc and put on it routinely, then you will locate where the inflammation lies, If the antibiotic doesn't soon work try for a stronger one. I have seen a bad tooth close peoples eyes, go figure.

Go to the dentist!

It could be 2 completey different things. If you have an infection in your tooth you need to have that seen to asap.A severe toothache can cause pain in the nose, ears, jaw, neck...everywhere. And the pain can spread to the point where you dont even know which tooth is the problem one. Take some painkillers and try an icepack on the area for a few minutes at a time but try and get to the dentist just to be sure, or if you cant afford to see a dentist get in contact with your local dental college. They will often do work for a minimal fee, or sometimes free. If its a tooth thats the problem the pain will probably not go away until its been taken care of.

Hi I too know the pain of toothache due to the sinuses. Apparently(my dentist) it can only be due to the sinuses if the ache is in the upper teeth. (Bottom ones arent connected to the sinuses). To relieve the pain, try sensodyne toothpaste. This may help if you get pain eating cold or hot things. Also try something like a saline nasal spray to relieve congestion of the sinus to prevent infections there. Other than that its a route canal at some expense. Luckily im not up to that yet! Hope this helps

Nothing except keep your face warm. It's very similar to toothache, I know from experience. But once the doc presses on the sinus sites...you know ! Hope the anti-biotics kick in soon

This a old remedy for tooth pain, it works well i have used this myself because i was dentaphobic i would not visit a dentist it took hynotherapy to get mein the same building as a dentist.
to get rid or draw the pain use a tiny spot of english mustard on a sticking plaster ,put the plaster on the side of the jawbone joint on the side that is affected, high up just before your temple, it will leave a red mark that goes after a day but it will shift the pain. if the pain is at the front of the mouth ,put the mustardplaster on the chin.
good luck LF

Saltine crackers will soothe a bad tooth (they will also rot them out quickly, so this should only be a temporary fix). If it is sinusitis, try the Johnson and Johnson vapor bath for babies in a hot bath or steamy shower. That will help ease the pressure. Feel better soon!

Put warm compresses on the ear and on the jaw area that has the infection.

A heating pad will help also.

Yes! When I have an ear infection or my Sinuses are infected, my jaw aches on the side of the infected area! Then I know I am getting a head cold, or something is wrong with either my ears or sinuses...

Its rarely one tooth that bothers me, its the entire area, jaw, and teeth that bother me.

I wish you well..

Jesse
