She rarely talks to me on her own. If I do strike up conversation its as if shes eager to do so. I realy like her, but its hard to get her.

Find out what she's into and talk about that. Ask her open ended questions like, 'tell me about....' questions that require more than a yes or no.
You will put her at ease if you talk about things she into as she will forget about being self conscious.
Ask her to a movie, this is easier at first because there is not pressure to talk during the movie and afterwards you'll have something to talk about.

Keep initiating conversations with her. If she seems eager to talk to you, then she probably is. She'll come around sooner or later.

Show her your nice, and you want to talk to her. Dont be loud and draw attention. Make sure she knows she can trust you. Like someone she hasnt met before.

Ask her friends what are her interests and/or hobbies. If one of her hobbies or interests are similar to yours then ask her to join you for a cup of coffee or a glass a wine to talk about them.

keep tryin...ask 4 her e-mail..or myspace. its usually easier 2 talk 2 people on the computer.....u can get more out...and have more fun (sometimes)
