Okay, i know this sounds weird. But i have a 1 year old son who has had some weird stools lately. In his stools, he has peices of whole food that he ate. For example, whole peices of carrots, rice, oatmeal, peas. You know how when you eat corn, it comes out the same way it goes in? Well, why is this happening with other foods with my son? I dont know if this is normal or not.

No, he is not too young to eat solids. He is more than 1 year old, and has11 teeth!. All the solids that he is fed are Gerber baby food products that are soft, its not like im forcing him to eat what i eat.

Different levels of digestion affect what comes out the other end.

Sweetcorn is normal but for other foodstuffs - chew the food much more and see if this makes a difference.

You stomach does not have teeth and eating quickly will not break the food down. In addition, there is possibly a weak digestive system there. Eat small meals more often and avoid very heavy foods such as red meat which is harder to breakdown.

If the symptoms still persist, consider seeing the doctor or looking for a change in the diet and testing for food intolerences.

Maybe switch back to pureed food and slowly introduce solid food because of the young age.

In an adult, this lack of digestion would be a serious medical problem. But your son is only one year old, and maybe his digestive system is not ready for solid foods yet.

Babies can be breast or bottle--fed for up to two years. Why not use that, or switch to the liquefied baby food? Or you could put his meal in a blender to make is practically liquid. Feed mashed potatoes and bouillion or soup, instead of peas and carrots.

You are giving him food whole. Cook it well, mash it.
He is not old enough to chew well. He just does not know.

He is not getting the nutrients for his health. It is important he gets all the goodies properly.

Yes peas, corn are the worst. Even adults have this problem. But children have to fed right.
