Jesus died to provide salvation for those who accept his atonement. His death did not make people accept him it provided grace for all of those who were still in there sin. We now live in his grace until he returns at that time there will be a day of judgment. this time of grace is provided that those who seek him will find him that they may find salvation. The time before Christ was the time of law where all men were under the law, The law was to show man his need for God. Once man found he could not live up to the law and needed God He came to the world to overcome sin to be tortured and ot die in the place of those who accept his atonement for their sins. The next time he comes is for judgment but thankfully that day is not yet as many have not accepted the atonement it is our time of grace For those who know God to share the gospel the good news of salvation.

Many realized He was truly the messiah when the earthquakes, etc. hit. What changed was that He established His church based on His blood for forgiveness. There was no church before He died because He still had the blood within His body. The church was established in the minds and hearts of mankind, and not some mansion as depicted as a church today.

His followers recognised that he was the messiah, and when he was resurrected he told them to "go therefore and preach to all the nations" After pentecost 33ce when holy spirit was poured, that was when early christianity began to spread, not just to the jews but to gentiles also. There are people today that do not beleive in Jesus, they say he was just a man, some say he was a prophet, youre always going to get people who disbelieve, but there were 300 prophecies concerning the Messiah and Jesus fulfuilled every single one of them. Jesus died for our sins not so that people could accept him. “By means of him we have the release by ransom through the blood of that one, yes, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his undeserved kindness.”—Eph. 1:7...by means of jesus we can gain back what Adam lost which was everlasting life. But that means we must do as john 17:3 says take in knowledge of God, and of Jesus christ.

An irrelevent episode. Jesus died in vain. The apostles changed everything to suit thier convenience. They knew that they can gather the masses in great numbers. so they started a church, which gave them power to rule over masses.
this questioner said" Jesus died to give people the chance to accept him". but the church accepted cross the symbol of death. Had they accepted jesus christianity would have had a different face. unfortunately wrong people took the centre-stage.
After Jesus's death nothing changed. Jews followed certain customs and traditions. so called followers of jesus created certain customs and traditions. nothing different. after jesus's death western world moved more into stupidity, cruelty and waged more bloody wars, killed more people. it seems they are still enjoying it far better than others.

Well, the thing that happened, so some people said, was that he came back to life. The 4 gospels in the Bible mention this.
So what changed is that he did something impossible, making his claim that he was Messiah much more convincing to people. That's sort of the fundemental idea behind Xtianity. I guess that movie "The Passion of Christ" makes it a little confusing.

He was able to bring life back into a dead body after 3 days. No one else has that power or level of pureness for the molecules to obey.
So life after death became the good news since most thought death was the end.

After Jesus left the earth, the deceiver of all mankind went out to deceive and lead astray as many people as possible. But god's chosen people will not be deceived, at least not to the extent that they do not believe.

Christianity remained a small scale cult for over a century after his death. I think it only rose to prominence because the Romans realised the value of a system of belief that emphasised pacifism and obedience to the law.

Well, people became more arrogant, cruel and bloodthirsty. Only now, its in the name of Jesus.
Somehow, I don't think that was his intent.
