Do you know who the father is? Name the baby after him....your husband won't mind.

Why don't you compromise, give the child a more traditional first name and a unique middle name. When the child arrives you can call it by the first or middle name. I like David Zane, Daniel Phoenix, Jessica Macy, and Kayla Katherine. Great names, but I would stay away from Evelyn (it's a nice name, but I think it may be too similar to your other daughter's name Roselyn). Some other suggestions are Ewa (pronounced ehh vah, not e va), Elaina, Anabeth, Joanie, Rebecca, Jackson, Porter, Rowan, and Carter. Good luck!

I HATE "trendy" names, specially ones with stupid changed spellings, or shortened names when the parent clearly doesn't realised it's shortened! I've seen a hundred here , :P.

How about giving the baby a traditional name - he will be surrounded by Jadens, Brogans, Mitchells and Bayleighs, so his WILL be the unusual one.

I think Alexander is a good name for a boy - traditional, strong sounding, never out of fashion. It can be shortened if you wish to Alex, Alec, Xander, Zander, Sacha (pompous I know!).

There are also names such as David or James, which if left as they are, are timeless.

Whatever you choose, best of luck with your new baby!

Try http://www.all-names.com/ it has every name under the sun listed by A-Z, boy, girl, origin and so on. I would suggest starting at Z and working through them backwards, that's what I did to come up with Zachariah. There are lots of Zachary's & Zacks in the world but not many Zachariah's. Hardly anyone has a name starting with Z, X, or Y.

The current trend, thank heavens, is for old traditional names which I would strongly advice as they have stood the test of time. Don't do a "Beckhamism", highly CHAV and very cruel. The problem with silly CHAV names for children is that only the parents think them nice and as they are "fashionable" names, which in itself is highly questionable; they go out of style and stand up to lots of schoolyard ridicule. Names like George, William, Harry and Charles are fabulous names for little boys and grow well into adulthood. You would happily go to a Dr/Lawyer/Builder/Electrician named as such but would you feel slightly ashamed if your son had to endure his professinal life as say; Dr Brooklyn Blade Smith? I certainly would!

Think of something meaningful to you then go to a baby name site and find a name that means the same.

If I ever have a daughter I want to name her Reina Day Adora because those names mean peace, hope and love.

Here are some good sites to try:

www.babynames.com
www.babycenter.com/babyname

look at his and your parents first or middle names..

most of the unusual names are going to get a kid teased... nobody ever got teased for the name JAMES or DAVID or GREG....
however the cutsy names or the names with "clever" spelling are the ones that make things harder on the kids from teasing to having to spell or pronounce their name everytime...
