I absolutely agree with David W. Unfortunately, your question mentiones that he already received the Typhoid vaccine.
After reading your question, I have to say that it never ceases to amaze me how incompetent these doctors truely are.
You said:
"Dose taking augmetin at the time of vaccination reduce the efficacy of the typhoid vaccination."
First off, There are 2 kinds of Typhoid Vaccines. the injectable is a killed vaccine and the pills are live vaccine. You mentioned that he "received an injection". If that is correct, then he received the Typhoid Vi Polysaccharide Vaccine Typhim Vi.
The package insert for this vaccine specifically states that there are NO KNOWN STUDIES regarding interactions or immunological interference between the concurrent use of this vaccine and antibiotics.
"No studies have been conducted in the US to evaluate interactions or immunological interference between the concurrent use of Typhim Vi
vaccine and drugs (including antibiotics and antimalarial drugs), immune globulins or other vaccines ( including common travelers vaccines
such as tetanus, poliomyelitis, hepatitis A, yellow fever and meningococcus)."
http://www.vaccineshoppe.com/US_PDF/TyphimVi_4928_4929%20_03.05.pdf
That being said, the doctor who administered this vaccine should have never done so. Why?
First, because THERE AREN'T ANY STUDIES done on 'test subjects' taking the vaccine and antibiotics concurrently. It could cause a reaction.
Also, The foundation of the human immune system begins in the intestinal tract. Gut flora is probably one of the most important factors of good health. There's good bacteria and bad bacteria. Antibiotics kill ALL bacteria. Good and Bad. Then, when the course of antibiotics has ceased, there is little or no good bacteria. This gives the bad bacteria the opportunity to grow. It is the good bacteria that is needed for the imune system to function properly.
The entire 'theory' of vaccination is based on antibodies. When the vaccination (dead or live virus ) enters the bloodstream, your immune system is 'supposed' to recognize the virus and fight against it. At the same time, creating antibodies against the disease.
So, here you have a person, who is ALREADY sick with Bronchitis. His immune system is fighting against this infection.
Then, you add antibiotics to the picture. Which, as I mentioned above, kills ALL (good and bad) bacteria. Weakening the already taxed immune system.
Then on top of all that, you add vaccinations to the mix. Now the immune system has to fight against this virus which was intentionally injected into the bloodstream.
It's asking for problems.
If you read through the package insert for the vaccine, you will see that it sites difficulty breathing as one of the possible side effects.
The CDC also states difficulty in breathing and wheezing as potential side effects.
http://www.cdc.gov/niP/publications/VIS/vis-typhoid.pdf
He is on antibiotics for BRONCHITIS and the doctor gives him a vaccine that may cause DIFFICULTY IN BREATHING.
I'm not going to say that I am surprised, because I'm not. Doctors do this type of thing all the time. Vaccinations are given out like water. You can go to your local supermarket and stand in line for a flu shot. Most doctors are quick to dismiss the side effects of vaccines. Contrary to most people's beliefs, vaccinations can cause some very harmful side effects. And sometimes can be deadly. Every vaccine has a list of contradictions. Yet, they give vaccinations freely at the supermarket. Without knowing the medical history or background of the patient.
So to make a long answer short..
It is possible that there may be a loss of effectiveness due to the antibiotics. But, that would be the LEAST of my worries. His best form of prevention would be to try to be carful about what he eats or drinks. It says that right on the CDC link above...
"typhoid vaccine is not 100% effective and is not a substitute for being careful about what you eat or drink."
I would be more concerned about his health. It is your individual choice to vaccinate or not. But one thing is certain. You should never get a vaccination if you are already sick.
My advice for him now would be to strengthen his immune system.
Take Probiotics to help him replace the good bacteria that is being killed by the antibiotics.
Take Cod Liver Oi, Vitamin C and a good multi vitamin/mineral to help boost his imune system.
If he does these things along with a good diet, It should help his immune system greatly.
Hope this helps.

The typhoid injection probably has no positive effect anyway.
Do NOT get vaccinated.
A vaccinated person is MORE likely to get a disease than a non-vaccinated person. The whole theory of vaccination is flawed. It causes a weakening of the immune system thus making those who are innoculated more susceptible to disease.
There are so many awful side effects to vaccination that it should be considered extremely dangerous.
Just sit back and think for a while.
Is there any sense in injecting a disease directly into your body.
We have been subjected to an awful mind control program to enable the drug manufacturers to make a fortune.
