Now that's lesson #1 you should have learned from Vietnam. There the military realized that you there were no territorial gains to measure progress only casualties to count and tried to casualties as an indication of progress. I remember the daily and weekly reports. In the end we killed about 1,000,000 and lost about 50,000 did we win.
There is no scoreboard for winning and losing a War. You win when the other guy is destroyed or quits. By the numbers the Confederacy won the Civil war. The Union lost troops at almost a rate of 2:1. But the south didn't have as many to start with was almost wiped out and quit.
I don't think Keeping score does any good for anybody. Your choice is Win or Die.

Americans are such good...um, marketers, that they somehow sold the idea that 9/11 was one of the most tragic days ever. Which it was. But I honestly believe the death of anybody is a tragic sight by itself, so they're both days we should remember and never forget. The thing about America is, with 9/11 they want to be remembered as the victim and seen that way. And with Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Americans forget about it because they hate it when they look like the villain. And in that situation, they were. Nobody wants to look like the bad guy. Especially America. So considering that America is so good at making themselves look like an angel, 9/11 seems more tragic than H&N bombing. However, both events are fading from the minds of today's generation. Most of them only care about what they're going to wear tomorrow. As the survivors of WW2 decreases, so do the memories. And we can never remember these things through movies and books better than we can from a living source. 9/11 is also slowly being forgotten. This year I hardly remember anybody talking about it on places such as Facebook. Heck, half of my friends forgot. Anyways, I ABSOLUTELY think that more damage was done during WW2. But 9/11 is remembered and marketed as the more tragic event. But this may be the case just because I'm residing in America.

IT"S A WAR, how many should have died before we ran away in WW1 or 2. Christ if you want to use a body count to justify turning into a wussie, then the wars on poverty and drugs should be over also, their a bigger quagmire than 100 Iraq's. Oh yeah and since we are using body counts, trying to get people to stop drinking and driving/safe driving is a dismal failure, we need to outlaw cars for private use, everyone needs to walk OR take the bus. Think of the children saved.

Iraq is in civil war now. Only a real Idiot like Bush would say they are not in civil war. The Civilian's dead in Iraq is between 450,000 to 650,000. No one knows how many were in fact terrorist. Over 750,000 have left the Country. How many of them were Terrorist? In the end no matter what we do in Iraq, Iran will control that Country. North Korea is supported by China and China has a one million man army. We should bring our troops home to protect America.

Almost 3000 at Pearl Harbor and over 4000 before we took Guadalcanal .
7000 , taking Iwo Jima alone .
If people in the 40's had thought like people today , we'd all be speaking Japanese .

The world is ! It will take several years to end it. It will take the will of the world to change a generation of people starting with the children. They need to be taught that "Allah" does not accept killing of people that do not promote Islam. Education of these children to better their selves for the good of all is better than killing yourself for someone Else's cause.
