www.petfinder.com will give you a list of local shelters you could possibly take the dog to. But, truth be told, so many are so full that your dog may not get in. And the kill shelters if they even accept pits put them down fast because the general public is so terrified of such a great breed. But then again, some of the general public is the reason the breed has such a bad name.

Why does your dog need a new home? Behavior problems? Landlord? When you got the dog, you did make it your responsibility to take care of it. I do understand that things happen but if its a behavior problem like housebreaking or chewing on shoes, I'd hate for you to want to give up on your dog when those things can be fixed. If you dog is aggressive, a behaviorist could help. If you can't afford the professional to help you manage an aggressive dog, I would just go ahead and put it to sleep. Aggressive pit bulls are practically impossible to place. I'm not saying don't try, just don't get your hopes up too high about it. Can you give us more information about why you are trying to rehome?

If you do not want to put your Pit Bull to sleep, then you must find a way to keep her. If you take her to a shelter, she will most likely be put to sleep. So basically you will be killing your dog. Dogs are not disposable like a pieces of garbage. They are living creatures with feelings. When you take them to a shelter, they spend their last few days scared and wondering what happened to you. Too many people think that they can enjoy their dogs while it is convenient, and then just dispose of them when the dog becomes inconvenient. It's a horrible thing to do. People who do this suck.

you don't have to let it be put to sleep.Send it to a nearby animal recue center. While they keep the dog, they will give you a couple of weeks to find the dog an owner or they will put the dog to sleep. Better start searching. Best of luck.
