Okay, I can only speak from what I have seen. Yes you are right, I don't see many Asians around on t.v. or in public. However, that is mostly because you guys only make up 8% of the population. That is almost half of the black and Hispanic population that is round 12%. Tyrese the famous model/actor is considered hot and he is mixed with Asian. Many black people i know consider other races to be better because they have 'nice' hair. Let me tell you that a black women would love to have your child because it would come out pretty and have 'good' hair. Also, you guys are higher on the race pole than us. Yes, white is the majority therefor the ones we see on t.v. all of the time. But blacks are and will always be on the bottom. Maybe if you tried hitting on some black women then you would see that they will easily date you. The only reason they might not is because they like to stick with their own kind because they feel comfortable and safe that way. My boyfriend always calls me a ****** and it hurts me. He is white and there is always that feeling of inferiority when I'm with him. Still, I have no problem and really actually want to date an Asian guy. I really like you guys because you're so cool! I only worry about the size thing... But other than that, I wish that Asian guy at school would hit on me, you guys should be more friendly instead of sticking to yourselves.

As an Asian guy, I have to say its all in the mind cos I never had this problem but youre seeing it in a live situation so you know better than I do.
The only thing I will say is Asians as a community tend to stick to their own race and do not integrate as easily as other races, I think its the language and culture thing. In turn other people dont think an Asian guy/girl would be interested in them and are just looking for a bit of fun until they get married to one of their own race, this makes the girl feel like shes just a substitute or stand in for what youre really after i.e. not a girlfriend but just being used for a good time.
My advice is to be friendly, genuine, sincere and relaxed - if you come across as deperate you will get nowhere. Never approach any girl unless she is giving you lots of eye contact, otherwise you will just embarrass yourself.
Make an effort to mix socially with others and be part of their group - you dont have to be invited to these social events, just show up and be friendly, that will send a message that youre just the same as any other guys.
Good luck and dont accept stereotyping or it will consume you.

What is wrong with these people!? Heh, I personally can't see how the average Asian guy would NOT be better looking than Brad Pitt. The world is so white-centric it's crazy.
And that's just on the level of appearances, too....>.>

It sounds like you are trying too hard to find someone!!! Just be yourself, and believe me,someone will come around who will care about you,and it won't matter what race or culture you are from. There are people out there that none of that matters to them,so just hang in there, and don't try so hard! Finding the right person takes time, but you shouldn't have to work at it. Enjoy your life now and your friends, and one day your soul-mate will be standing beside you!

i am a black american female so i would say be confident don't try to be something you are not. not all black people isolate different folks like that maybe they don't know what to say to you show that you are interested in the activities avalible and if you are overlooked then say something like "oh i can't come along oh that's mess up"trust me they will respect you for it. sometimes i get very shy also if you really want to be apart of everything show intrest you are a student also that is a very common ground you all have.

It's all about getting involved and seeing your self as one of them. Don't think just because you are Asian, that you are seen as a outsider. There are cool Asians too, its just a matter of how you force your self to fit in.
