I deleted a question because it was pointed out to me it was pretty gestapo like, and bordered on a police state oppinion. I am sorry for that, and shall take it back.
I just know there are ways to curb the stem of illegal immigrants, and looking for sound ideas.
Again, sorry .

It takes a big person to admit they did something wrong and actually apologize for it HERE.

I respect you for that.

You are right, we need to look for ways to curb the stem of illegal immigrants. Every idea needs to be examined. Some will be good ideas and some won't. You shouldn't be judged for sharing any idea. It is how the system is suppose to work.

Take Care...

Well, I'd say the first step is to actively petition the government to try and get all the facts on the issue on the table, and then hold public forums to discuss all angles of the issue.

Illegal immigration is a GLOBAL problem, not confined to any one country, and there are a lot of sub-issues that go along with it.
Nonetheless, the burden falls to our government representatives to hear facts and opinions on the issue, and then decide what they can/will do about the problem, and what solutions make themselves evident after a careful study of all relevant data.

I persona;;y see nothing wrong with having a national ID card for every citizen.A lot of country's already require this. And like the one poster said your already have to have your Social Security card in able to work.So its not like its an invasion of your privacy. In a modern world you have unfortunately already lost your privacy.A card that could not be counterfeited would be great,in fact they could combine all your cards together in one with encrypted information as to drivers license, social security and perhaps urgent health needs..The need for a pass port is a very good thing for this country. If you cant afford the pass port I doubt you could afford the traveling to either country you mentioned. If you were traveling the legal way.
I would encourage rather than discourage a national ID card for all legal people in the US,Its time has come.
There has got to be a solution other than amnesty ,to the problem of illegal immigration and the free flow of terrorists to this country.
AJ there's nothing wrong with being branded a legal American. If that's the case throw away your drivers license and your credit cards, they all brand you with their information..Every time you buy something and the store asks for your zip code you are being counted. Its a fact of life. Not being branded.

What Americans are over looking is that we are being fenced in like branded cattle. Your SS # identifies you, goes with you wherever you go, hinders you in credit and other issues. In Jan, 08, all Americans are required to have a passport (tied to your SS#) before you can go on a cruise, travel to Canada or Mexico. There are those that can not acquire a passport nor afford the increasing price. You need to look at things below the headlines, after all what has changed to any illegal here?

I don't think your question was police state at all, illegal aliens have no right in this country, those that do not speak English had better learn it. It would seem to me that those that are in this country legally would look forward to proving it and would supply the proper paperwork with pride. Those here illegally have no rights outside of human rights and should be removed from our society as they are lawbreakers.

Edit: no apology is needed, I agree with you.

I think if we follow and USE the laws already on the books we wouldn't have to take extreme measures and we could take care of the too many Unwanted illegal aliens by deporting them.

We could capture them at the boarder and at the work place and punish anyone harboring illegal aliens like landlords.

We have to make the government stop giving them Welfare, Food Stamps Free Public Housing, Medicaid...

$11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year.

$2.2 Billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens.

$2.5 Billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens.

I don't think your question was out of order, because most non-English speaking people are not legal. I work with illegals, not by choice, but because I have an employer that hires them. And the majority who don't speak English are illegal.

You don't owe them jack, they owe us, if it takes a gestapo to get the flood of illegals going home, I embrace it completely. We need to make it a living hell for them here, remove all legal protections, heck, why not round them up and harvest healthy organs for our citizens awaiting transplants. Now that is a win/win.

I don't think your suggestion was nearly harsh enough.... don't apologize, being nice hasn't worked - these illegals are bleeding middle-class Americans dry...it's time to treat then like what they are....TERRORIST looking to change America into something we don't want - a third world cesspool!
