Ah!!! An intelligent question....for once.

I toast it as the healthy option. Then put bacon on top (crispy) then a poached egg on top of that. Maybe a grilled tomato (as a concession to the cholesterol God)
However. Fry your bacon. Fry the soda cut side down in the bacon juice and repeat above with a fried egg......mmmmmmmm....kill you stone dead...but ...what a way to go.

How do you eat soda bread? Wif yo teef! ROTFL!!! Seriously, you eat it any way you enjoy it. You can toast it, you can roast it (with a nice topping) or eat it plain - but it's best right out of the oven, still warm from being fresh baked. A little butter does just fine, as do cream cheese and crumbled bacon.

Have it toasted or just normal. Plenty of kerrygold Irish butter melted in to it. Not margarine. You need to enjoy the soda bread.
Treat yourself.
Big mug of tea.
and Enjoy.

My Irish born nanny used to make it then serve it warm from the oven, with butter, heaven. Any left over was fried along with a full breakfast of sausage, egg, bacon, etc. Delicious like that too!

You can eaat it anyway you like as it is or toasted it goes well with savouries meats or cheeses or sweet spreads like jam, it's lovely warmed up in the oven and served with salad 1 slice is usually enough though as it can be quite heavy.
