Depends on if it is dry or juicy. Loud ones usually do not smells as much. They are also probably better for you since you are not holding back anything which could put strain on the bowels.
The more silent ones tend to have the jalapeno effect in which they burn out a wet deadly killer. They also tend to have a rotting dead animal in your gut effect. Not nice for anyone within nuclear range to be a apart of, including the instigator of such a nasty attack.

I believe.. Neither. Expelling flatus from your bowels should be a ritual confined within your private space. If you choose to stay after you expel, that is within your right. However, whether you prefer a "loud one" or a "silent one" only solidifies my impression of the morals of our next generation. Too much MTV. But what do you expect from an old "fart."

that all depends.. do you want them to know its you? do a silent but violent.. stink the room and no one will know or create havvok and fart alound and clear a room even quicker.. i go for the out loud ones.. there funnier
