a good game as in a board game ? for this id suggest hungry hippos, buckaroo or a type of fishing game. nothing too complex.
i suppose a jigsaw is good too if thats classes as a game.
or games to play together not board games - you can hide things around the house and make a treasure map and look for things together. make snowflakes and put them around the house and go looking for them together to see how many you can find. matching games with little cards. cooking little cakes together aswell but thats not really a game but its something to do together which is great fun esp when it comes to decorating.
also santas letters at christmas....leave it by the fireplace or the door ..somewhere santa can find it..and leave in its place some glitter and a letter back to the child.and feeding the reindeer on xmas eve too - make magic food together - some oats and glitter and sprinkle in front garden.
im not 100% sure if you meant as in a present or games/things to do for xmas so have given u abit of both lol

Trust me to be different I wouldn`t buy anything because I think Family Values of old have proved that if one brings up a child where one only buys what you can afford the child has a better quality of life in later years & appreciates the value of things. There are numerous games that we used to play when we were small & young & there may have been limited choice but they didn`t cost the earth & we got just as much satisfaction from them than having something these days which in a few months time will probally end up in a cupboard & unused. Only personal opinion.

Leapfrog toys. They make a Leappad that is for children all the way to 2nd grade. There are lots of educational games and books to go with it and the kids don't even realize they are learning. They are really great toys that actually grow with the child.

Chutes and Ladders and Memory are good board games for that age. Anything by Leapfrog that is age appropriate is a good choice if you don't mind battery operated games. Legos are another choice that allows kids to play for hours and hours.

Candy Land is still a classic children's game for those under 4. Instead of dice it uses color cards to allow movement. Children simply match the color or picture to move their pieces along the path.

sleeping lions. Its free. I love it.LOL.Just invite one or two of there mates around get them to to play sleeping lions, they all lay on the floor and whoever moves or makes noise first is out. keep going till everyone is out, the last person on the floor is the winner, if you have a good prize they all lay dead still for ages. LOVELY JUBLY its the best game to keep all those annoying brats quiet for ages

dont think it matters as most kids of that age will play more with the boxes than the toys but games where things pop up and make sounds were always a fav with my kids of that age

I heard that V Smile is a really good thing. My neighbor's best friend got it for her goddaughter's 3rd birthday and she loves it. She has started to learn her colors and knows what a circle and square are.
