My puppy is 2 wks old. He is coughing and he's nose is stuffed up.
He gags when coughing. I took him to the vet Thursday night, he gave him antibiotic drop for 2x's a day. The do not seem to be working, at all.
I have been giving him water with needleless syringe, sitting him in steam 1 -2x's a day, using snot sucker on his nose, and a tiny dose of nutri-cal.
He is still coughing. Is there anything else I can try?
I was told to try chicken broth, but I haven't yet.
I don't really want to use any medicine on him, cause his so young.

There R 7 pups in the litter. Mom is not coughing. There is one other pup with runny nose. The others are all on the antibiotic too. I am gonna call vet in a few hours.

It is very likely that he has kennel cough or some other form of upper respiratory infection. He absolutely needs to be taken to a veterinarian before it turns into bronchitis or pneumonia.

Being that he is a puppy it is all the more important that he get medications. Your veterinarian will be able to provide a medication in the proper dose for his body weight. Kennel cough will not go away on its own. He needs different antibiotics or different medications all together. If he does not get meds, he is too small and young to fight it on his own, he could die.

Please take him to the vet. If you had a human infant with these problems, you would give him medications from a pediatrician. Puppies are no different.

They may have Parvo. Take them to the vet and have them rechecked. Ask the vet if it is Parvo. It can kill puppies very quickly. Parvo is very prevalent in parts of the country now. DO NOT give him chicken soup. His little digestive system could not handle it.

If the antibiotic's are not helping, I would definitely take the pups back to the vet!
