One of my friend's boyfriend took her to the movies on a Saturday afternoon. She was unsure why they were the only ones in the cinema, and then the movie started. It was a short film made by him that showed photos of them together, romantic music. At the end there was a brief film of him asking her to marry him. She was in a flood of tears as she said yes. He had booked a table at a restaurant with champagne roses etc for afterward.
You could do something similar on youtube, if put it out there for the whole world to see, she will think that you are really nuts for her.

Be original, and creative and think of it on your own.
I know that isn't an idea, but if you are going to propose, I think it would be more meaningful if you came up with an idea on your own. If your girlfriend ever found out you got your idea from here, I don't think she'd be as excited about the great idea someone else had.

My parents just knew that they would get amrried (and they still are 25years later) so when they when out for a walk my dad just said how about it?
Simple is probably the best but not boring, don't be too over the top (i.e with a string quartet )or too regular (i.e. during a meal in a fancy resurant)

`Go to a restaurant that has 'birthday' parties. You know, where the waiters and waitresses bring out a cake and everyone sings some version of 'happy birthday'.
Have them do that for you, but put the ring on the cake (in a small cup to keep it clean). Instead of happy birthday, have them all kneel and say "Will you marry HIM?" as they point to you.
You must set this up several days in advance (but bring the ring that day and give it to the host(ess) just before the cake come out).

When i proposed to my wife i got 10 different ring boxes and wrapped them up and put a different clue in each one. Made her look for an hour and a half until the last clue led to me on one knee with a ring just waiting for her to say yes

Start off with a line something like 'You know, I would love to spend the rest of my life to an amazing woman like you.' then wait for her response and say 'I really meant it.' and then tell her how much you love her, then think of something creative to talk about then again romantic.
