the main problem with limewire is that its a open network,so the computers you are downloading from are just like your own and some(around 20%)are using dial-up
so unlike downloading from network servers,where you can get download speeds of up to 500kb/sec you are limited to speeds of between 10 to 200kb/sec on limewire
unfortunately all the other file sharing sites such as kazza and bearshare you will find that you have the same problem,as they are all based on the same type of setup
one solution would be to upgrade to the pro-version of limewire which you can do on-line or you can download the version on limewire itself(a bit naughty)
i use limewire on the odd ocassion and i tend to minimize it to the taskbar and get on with other jobs,but you require a fair bit of ram to be able to do this,i currently use 2gb ram but you could do this with 1gb no problem
so try kazza and bearshare first and then try limewire pro

on ya normal limewire search in programs for limewire pro download one thats a zipped file when ya get it extract the files to limewire pro click on the file folder and it will install limewire pro on ya comp this is true as i have done it myself everyone that reads this it really does work

my cuzzin used too tell me that orpheus is physically powerful buti tried it and when I acquire the music the music wouldnt paintings... you could attempt bearshare thats what my buddy makes use of and it variety of feels to working properly for her. yet for limewire you will possibly desire to prolly get dsl information superhighway or sometype of broadband information superhighway, it will make limewire soooooooo lots speedier

i used to have limewire still have, but just read this site i didnt know about frostwire i wish i did because liewire does create problems. so i will give frostwire a go... thanks!!

there is FROSTWIRE look,s the same as limewire but WORKS BETTER frostwire
