Well your dog is a loyal friend so you so you should reciprocate by showing the same loyalty to your dog.
Next time you see this upstart dog the 2 of you go over there and start pushing it around then get out a bat and kneecap the bastard.
Your dog will be re assured that you are there to protect it and will have no problems returning to the place in the future.
You will have proved that you are a true pet lover and you and your dog will have a long and happy friendship.
Just make sure that you take out the enemy dog's owner as well when you are doing this
Good Luck .....

Yes they do remember. The same thing happened 2 me, my dog's had a fight with a big lab/boxer dog a few week's ago the guy had his dog off the lead and he come over and started on my dog's.
Well last week i was taking them for a walk and i noticed they was looking over other side of field and their back's was up.
I looked over and see the dog with his owner (off the lead again) i had 2 pull my 2 dog's away lucky the dog didn't see mine befor i got outa his sight.
Oh btw my dog's are very friendly dog's with other dog's they only retaliated because he started on mine first

The answer to this is very definitely YES! you will need to be on your guard and if you see this dog keep as far away as possible, I hope the owner of this other dog is just as aware as you will be of the problem and keep his/her dog on a lead until the danger is past.
Years ago I had a German Shepherd B1tch who was quite a dominant character and a few doors away was an equally dominant cross bred b1tch and if we met on the common my friend (who owned the other dog) and myself would give each other a wide berth! We didn't see each other for weeks and sometimes months! many years later when both dogs were about 12/13 years old and not able to walk very steadily either of them, we met and decided as they were old we could possibly get away with it.........BIG MISTAKE!!! they began fighting regardless of the fact that they both need walking frames!! It taught me not to be complacent when it comes to dogs, they NEVER pretend.
Take care!

It depends what it was over. If your dog owed the other dog cash as a result of your dogs acute gambling problem then they'll still fight on account of the debt not being settled. If on the other hand both dogs were simply drunk then it's probably just a storm in a teacup.
In either case it's probably best you get your dog some help. Clearly it's got an addictive personality. It's only a matter of time till it starts selling leads to pay for it's drug habit.

If you walk your dog off the lead s/he is always at risk of attack by other dogs or humans.
I know it is harder to run with your dog to exercise him or her but it is kinder. My dog is a JRT/Doberman Cross and his presence really upsets other dogs. Hence I always keep him on the lead - a long rope with knots in it so that I can pull him in quick if necessary in the park. When we are on the pavement he is on a short leash and we run together.
I don't understand why people let their dogs run free to attack me or my boy. A little control is always needed - not just commands. The only person I know who can do this in safety is my friend with a trained Collie sheepdog. All other dogs seem to loose their heads when we are around.
Update - I am talking about in town, parks and near sheep.

Dogs do remember. I have a cross labbie mongrel which was attacked by a Welsh Border Collie. She hates them all now, but is still ok with most other breeds she meets.

They will recognise each other from scent and also general shape and size....in fact other dogs of the same size and colour can also affect your dog...my friends dog was attacked by a rottweiller 3 years ago and is still very afraid of dogs that are dark coloured and medium to large in size. Please be very careful. take care xx

Yes, and they also remember where the fight occurred. They can be nervous in that area for weeks afterwards if they are beaten up
