can be used in this situation?

He tried by all means to prove that his answer was correct and everybody else's wrong. The next day, the teacher came into class, answered the question and his answer turned out to be wrong. So he's........................ (a word other than embarrassed please).

Microsoft Word's thesaurus says 'embarassed' can also mean:
humiliated
made self-conscious
mortified
made uncomfortable
made ashamed
made shy
discomfited

I like to use "humiliated".

are you sure the tense isn't wrong? should it be "everybody else's WAS wrong" and "So he WAS ______" ?
