If you Christians stop talking about God maybe it will bring us closer to God. How can Christians not talking about God bring an individual closer to God?

Well, if people stop talking about God, perhaps they will realize the reality that there are no gods. Maybe the person saying this realizes that all of the God talk is vacuous, but isn't ready to admit that gods don't exist. Not talking about God would allow a reassessment, which is a good thing. Then, perhaps, people will realize the superstition for what it is.

I think Christians offen talk about something, they don't know. You can't really imagine God. But Christians often do that. They say, God does that, God wants that and so on. But God only can be found if you don't give Him such human characteristics. And only of your own you can found Him. Nobody can tell you, how it goes. And nobody can tell you, what He wants, becaus nobody knows it. I think, when you don't talk about Him, He gets the occasion to talk to you.

By being an example for God! When one is in love they want to share that joy with all. If you are not going to talk about God then by living your life by example people see it in you and want what you have..

It convicts them and they don't want conviction, that messes up the whole agenda. I do believe that some Christian brothers and sisters are overly pushy and that is a turn off to people also. Jesus never beat salvation over anyones heads. He simply presented the facts and if you wanted to accept he was there for you.

SIMPLE. Because no religion can even possibly be close to teaching us correct things about God because even if there is one, its qualities and purpose can not be known.
therefore whatever they are teaching about God, (like all religions), is false and therefore taking us away from the true definition of God....if there is one(any)

its more the bible thumping, glazed eyes, benny hinn freakys that scare people away. there isnt anything wrong with letting people know ur a christian and that that is important to u. live up to those values that christians talk about - that will go further to bring people to god. i suppose.

'God' is just an idea invented by early civilisations to try and promote an orderly society, but it hasn't worked. We should try to work together, as a worldwide community, and stop thinking that a belief in 'God' will solve all our problems.

People don't like being lectured to by religionists. It only alienates a lot of people who might otherwise want to explore religious belief.
