I recently asked my friend from HongKong and he said, "so they can make more money, gain all the power and take over the world".

The main reason for the large population in China and other Asian countries is due to a variety of factors, but the two most important are rice cultivation and Confucious.

Rice is a cereal crop that yeilds some of the highest calories per acre cultivated, but it requires a great deal of water and physical labor. If you can fee more people, then your country can support a higher population.

The labor and water needed to cultivate rice requires a highly organized society. This organization is necessary not only to supply a vast peasant class that will live and die in the paddys taking care of the rice, but also to provide enough organized labor to build and maintain irrigation systems such as canals and other waterways. That is where Confucious comes in.

Most people consider Confucious to be a religious figure of some kind, but that is far from the truth. He was a philosopher of society, and his teachings lay out rules and guidelines on how a society should be organized. The main points he stressed were that position in society should be based on merit instead of birth, the common good is more important than your own, and a person can find fulfillment by devoting himself to his family and country.

This resulted in what Westerners would consider to be an amazingly rigid and set culture, but it is also one which allowed for a very efficient use of assets. People would rise as far as possible in society, devote their full talents and energy to their jobs, and try to expand their family as much as possible.

Most Asian cultures adopted systems similar to Chinese society, mainly because they were trying to find ways to gain similar advantages. That is why the population density in Asia is greater than that of most Western nations. Since the Chinese still take much of Confucian philosophy to heart, their population will still continue to grow.

Well gee, considering that they've had a culture that goes back even a bit further than northen europeans its not suprising theres so many of them.

On DNA paper, I'm asian, even tho it says I'm native american. Figure my DNA traveled across the Bearing straight some 12,000 years or so ago.

The ONLY reason why the Asians didn't explore like their European counterparts was they decided to turn politically inward, and did not do the expansionist stuff.

They had ships up to 500 tons, which were either equal too, or even better than the 200 tonners that Leaf Erickson used. Politics, not technology is what made the determination.

4 reasons for asian country being populated

1. They get marry early. At least they used to
2. They are poor. They don't have any entertainment so sex is the major event. And they don't have money for birth control.
3. Kids are part of the helper in the family. Kids may need to skip school to help working to support the family. So they are helper.
4. Because of poor condition, many children died due to poor health conditions and no money for medications. So family tends to bear more children in case some kids die early.

Think about it. There are 1.3 billion Chinese in China alone. The Japanese are also internationally renowned for their travelling to see the world and many Asians like to study abroad. So of course they are 'all over the place'.

part of the answer might lie in common (mis)perceptions of race. Asia is a huge landmass with a huge populace (the population of India is not that far off China) and many different races - they might share some commonalities in facial features but they of course are not all Chinese. Much like perceptions of the differences (or lack thereof) between African tribes. Of course there are also plenty of Caucasians around, although if you had to suggest to example a Frenchman he looked like an Englishman you might find yourself in the merde :)

Have you ever noticed that PEOPLE, in general, are all over the place? Take a second and think about how THEY came to be. It shouldn't matter what their bloodline is, but who they are as an individual. You will never be able to restrict your vision to see only who you please and if you honestly do, then you are pretty sad for distinguishing who is "better" among the human race and you might as well go crawl under a rock because the world is not going to accommodate to you, so you might as well do it for yourself.

With all the restrictions in other asian countries and overpopulated areas with little land for people to live in, they are spreading to other parts of the world, I know Bolivia has been populated by asians for quite a while now.

If you look at a map you will see that Asia is actually quite a large place and that is why a lot of people live there. Unlike many large places most of Asia is inhabitable and yields enough crops to feed a decent population.

Apart from the triviality of the answer: "they didn't have TV", there are ALWAYS more children born in poorer nations, or poorer communities. In farming and hunting communities, more children, especially boys, meant greater strength, vitality, more work...
Middle-class populations become acquisitive, self-seeking and have to cope with higher costs due to their greater expectations in life (cars, domestic appliances, longer holidays). So, fewer children!
It's a big subject!!
