Just what is it with the Brits? OK it's an island state, but why is there all this hate? Do you really feel so threatened? Many years ago my dear departed brother-in-law remarked, when Spain joined the EU, 'Now we're all going to have to take a siesta.'
When Nestlé bought Rowntrees he said, 'You Swiss are trying to take over the world.' I'm British but live in Switzerland. My daughter's response was, 'Well they might just put some cocoa in their chocolate in future.'

The UK hasn't adopted the Euro and isn't a Schengen signatory.
All I can say is, bloody good luck to you. Go it alone. At least this question took the heat off Muslims for a while.
As for France: love it. Great theatre, great cinema, great food, great wine, great language and all in all a great way of life. Wish I'd ended up there, but what the hell, life in Switzerland is a great deal better than life in the UK.
Why did people from England buy the Dordogne if it's so disgusting?

I think that the country of France supported the American colonists against the English in the 18th century thus allowing us to become our own independent nation. Our success then fueled their own rebellion over Louis XVI and allowed the French to become a Republic. Obviously France embodies, Liberty, Fraternity and Egalitarianism, three virtues that have influenced the world...

A bit smelly sometimes, but that's only because they don't spend all their time worshipping the great god soap and water, so not really a problem - yet look at how much perfume they're famous for! I don't drink wine so they can shove that, but I do like most of their cheeses. Their baguettes are only bread with a different name so why all the fuss, the markets are always full of fresh food, and the farmers and truck drivers won't stand for any nonsense from their government, and they don't take too much notice of the Euro laws unlike us load of lap-dogs in the UK! The hyper-markets at their end of the tunnel are fantastic too providing you've got your own transport. Paris could be any big city, so nil points there. If you want any more, please press 'one'....
