Rapid Shallow breathing comes automatically with many of these conditions. Slower Deep breathing has two effects: It lessons the physical effects of the emotional condition and it also adds conscious control to the event.

It is not so much the increase in oxygen, although this does help. The primary reason is the lowering of the amount of carbon dioxide in the lungs and in forcing air into the lower portions of the lungs.

Deep breathing is done with the abdomen, not just the chest muscles, This leads to filling the lungs fuller than with shallow chest breathing. It is the extremities of the lungs which are more effective in exchanging the gases in the blood stream.

Many dysfunctional traits are subconsciously controlled and have become automatic. By taking control of your breathing, you change this event. Once conscious control of breathing happens, then conscious control of the other physical or emotional conditions becomes easier.

There's some reason to believe that the average person's brain is in a constant state of oxygen deprivation, due to the fact that most of us don't breathe correctly. If the brain cells suddenly receive an influx of oxygen, then they can function more efficiently, and the person can experience a type of "super-understanding" or awareness that they've never know before in a specific area of their lives and/or emotions.

Once the individual returns to the usual shallow breathing, things go back to status quo. But for the length of time that the brain is properly oxygenated, the breakthroughs in awareness can seem almost miraculous.

Maybe deep breathing allows you to intake more oxygen to help blood flow through the brain better so you can think things through more. It also serves as a distraction from the matter at hand because you're focusing on breathing to calm you down, not the situation that upset you.

I thought that deep breathing is used as a distraction from the pain or the feeling (such as anxiety). Concentrating on your breathing makes you feel more relaxed and in control.

Yeah, you'll situation it every day for those who wish. Just depart it in in a single day and wash it off within the morning. I did that for 2 weeks after a perm (Oh, dull suggestion....) seeing that my hair was once past fried. Just be certain to exchange among moisturizing therapies and protein therapies.
