And why?

Can include moving destinations like ships! (PS: I forgot to do the lottery yesterday, but I can always dream!)

For a 2 week holiday I'd very strongly recommend Namibia and Botswana in Southern Africa.

I went there a few years ago, as my brother lived in South Africa.

Namibia is an amazing place. It's a huge country with only a few million people. Vast open spaces, it has safari parks with most of the great African wildlife, it has a beautiful coastline with Cape Fur Seals and Flamingos, everywhere you drive it has the most beautiful scenery, amazing rock formations.

On top of that they have the amazing Namib desert, and the skeleton coast (the world's only desert on a coastline - people washed up on the coast would simply die of thirst - no water but seawater for miles, and many ships just stranded in the middle of dunes - it's amazing). The dunes are absolutely stunning as well.

The people are amongst the friendliest I've ever come across. The country is richer than most of the rest of Africa and so accomodation standards are pretty good and most people speak English. But at the same time they still have a lot of tribal culture as well.

When I was in Namibia I also popped across to the Okavango Delta swamps in Botswana next door. This is a water laden wildlife park which is absolutely stunning... it has different wildlife and many, many birds.

This was without doubt the most amazing holiday I've ever been on. And so few people have heard of Namibia or been there that it makes it a very unique experience.

It also has a good setup for adventure sports so you can easily go skydiving, quadbiking, sandboarding (sandboarding down dunes is REALLY cool).

If you ever win that lottery - GO!

Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote.
You don't have to dream, it can be yours! Go self catering. The beach is probably imported but still has relatively nice sand. The restaurants and pubs are super as well as being inexpensive - and the people are friendly. The weather will be warm and at the moment they will have longer daylight hours than we do. There are fantastic excursions and you really must go and see the volcano. The flight is only four hours!
We went there last November/December and thoroughly enjoyed it - it was our first visit to any of the Canary Islands and would go back - especially for the Canary Potatoes and the special sauces that they serve with them.
Alternatively, the holiday that we had before was to Kuala Lumpur - fantastic holiday but a thirteen and a half hour flight - and a damn site more expensive!

Mexico was one of the best places I have been , Cancun It was a great relaxing holidays, We did nothing, but it was one of the hottest places I have been All inclusive for 2 weeks was around £1100 or cheaper for 5* accomo. Also Cuba was very nice you can get a similar priced holiday there as well, Both these destinations have the friendliest people who made our stays very special.
Before you book any hotel I would advise that you pay tripadvisor.com a visit. It has always been very acurate for me, enjoy the dreams.

It really all depends on what you want to do, and the things you want to see. I used to live in Illinois (not a whole lot to do there), but I now live in South Carolina, and if you like the ocean and beautiful scenery, you would love it out here. Oregon is also a very beautiful place, I have never seen a river run so clear. It was so clear you could look down and see the fish you were about to catch, even the fish in which was about to run into your leg. Either place is great for scenery, and the ocean, but the Ocean in Oregon is actually very cold, unlike South Carolina. Out here, well in Hilton Head you can get hotels for a very decent price, and the resaurants around the area, they are great!!!

I asked the same question and at the end of my research, I found Spain is the best holiday destination for students from Britain simply because its close, accessible, in European union and most of all - the country is gorgeous and has some fun activities for students.

Las Vegas.
shows (penn and teller - Ace, if you like magic shows), food (massive buffets :-), go to a range and try shooting a machine gun. take a ride out to Hoover dam and lake mead, hire a motorboat. take a helicopter ride into the grand canyon, and have a champagne lunch inside the rim, spend a few dollars on the roulette table, pretend you're james bond, go and take a ride out to the red rock canyon, visit an indian reservation, visit a brothel, if you're that way inclined.
2 weeks will not be enough

Thailand . Spend one wek in the south on the beaches and tropical islands, and one week in the north in the pristine mountain jungles.

Eat unbelievably tasty food, meet incredible friendly people, and understand what it is to lead a life not constantly oppressed by a war-mongering government.

And what's more, it's very cheap.

Greneda WI. It is probably one of the east spoilt of regular destinations. Choose a small/family run hotel. There are various websites just for Greneda.
