Hi there...consider using Nature's Miracle found worldwide at any pet store. It's an enzymatic neutralizer and works by thoroughly soaking the affected areas to allow to air dry. Heavily soiled areas need repeated applications.
Here's a photo of the Nature's Miracle product line: http://www.petsmart.com/media/ps/images/products/detail/large/June05/lg_50648_47f09.jpg

You need something that really penetrates, which most standard cleaners don't. Also you need to be able to take the piece of furniture out into the sunshine; if you cannot do this, put it as close as possible to open windows, after the following treatment.
Buy a plastic spray bottle and spray the furniture until it is very damp, with either pure alcohol (difficult to buy over the counter) or surgical spirit, you might need a half-litre. Next, spray it liberally with an inexpensive but pleasant smelling scent. Then leave it to dry in the air for as long as possible.
I think this will do it.

You're not going to get the smell until you get the urine out... you need to use an enzyme cleaner. You can find those in most pet stores. Look on the label to make sure it's safe for your furniture. Good luck.

You can try a professional cleaner, steam etc. or rent one yourself. It is my belief that it cannot be done, you probably will have to throw the furniture out in the garbage or reupholstered. I would get new furniture depending on how much was peed or sprayed and cover the new with vinyl furniture cover until the cat is fixed, or if it is a medical reason, until it is well again. Good Luck.

I have heard Febreeze is good.
I got something that had been trapped with a smoker for years and people recommened I use Febreeze,... it actually worked o.0
My mom used it on some things that were sprayed by our male cat but she hasn't been complaining or complimenting so I am not sure if it worked or if she even remembers those things were sprayed now.

i use a french odour remover. it comes it liquid form, in a medium white plastice bottle, has a cat and dog on the front and says 'removes faeces, vomit, urine trace from material' or similar. its very good, but it can only be bought from specialised pet shops for about £8.
