ok, as u know, in french, passé composé is for past tense. all verbs are conjugated using avoir, EXCEPT, the DRMRSVANDERTRAMPP verbs, they are

DEVENIR--to become
REVENIR--to come back
MOURIR--to die
RETOURNER--to return
SORTIR--to go out
VENIR--to come
ALLER--to go
naître--to be born
DESCENDRE--to go down
ENTRER--to enter
RENTRER--to go home
TOMBER--to fall down
RESTER--to stay
ARRIVER--to arrive
MONTER--to go up
PARTIR--to leave
PASSER--to go by

so, if the verb is one that isnt listed above, then use AVOIR. so, u take the verb, get rid of the stem (-er, -ir, -re) and add the following:

for -er verbs --> get rid of stem --> add é - ex: parler --> parlé
for -ir verbs --> get rid of stem --> add i - ex: finir --> fini
for -re verbs --> get rid of stem --> add u - ex: rendre --> rendu

you only have to make agreements when an article (le, la, les) comes before the verb

for the DRMRSVANDERTRAMPP verbs, when u use être, u conjugate the same way, except u ALWAYS make agreements, EXCEPT when a body part, or DIRECT OBJECT, comes after the verb
