mohommedan men are so untrusting of their women - possibly because they know that they themselves would never miss an opportunity. A survey some years ago suggested that mohommedan men wer the most frequent visitors to brothels of all religious and non-religious lechers.

so, it's in their own interest to protect their women from the lustful glances of other mohommedans.

This argument of course provides no reason for mohommedan men to wear a veil as the women are probably totally fed up with all of them, veil or no veil..

This is a very vague question. Muslim men AND women don't always wear veils. Men wear traditional head coverings but this doesnt cover their faces. Women in Islam have to have their hair covered, they DO NOT have to have their face covered. This is a cultural thing, not a religious thing.
Women only have to have their hair covered in the presence of males who arent relatives.
Much like the Virgin Mary covered her hair, nuns cover their hair, Judaism and Christianity both say you should cover your hair but this is overlooked now, in Islam it's still followed very closly.

Good Question!

In many muslim countries you will see that men wear head coverings, like the ones in the middle east.

You also must have noticed that muslim men dont wear shorts in public or dont go around shirtless, in vests, etc. Islam teaches decency and modesty to both men and women.

Women need to be covered slightly more cuz well they are women, better to look at than men.

And if men start covering their faces, how will the world function. They have to go out there and they are controlling the world basically.

I notice that a lot of answers state that you do not see men wearing dresses or skirts; and some of you suggest that only cross-dressers and transvestites wear dress like clothes

WRONG - Many Muslim men wear what they say are shirts; but they come down to the knee or calf; just like a dress. Are they cross-dressers?

A good question! If veils were just about showing piety, then men would wear them. I've seen London women in niqabs accompanying men (a husband or brother) in jeans and t-shirts. No, veils are really about the notion that women cannot be seen, and it's time we said this is unacceptable in our country.

Headscarves, fine - they can look rather nice. But covering your face (unless one has a disfigurement about which one is embarassed) is an affront to human dignity. And did you see the white British Muslim on Question Time last week covering her face with a veil? I think those ones bug me most of all. They should really know better.

Because it is not a religious thing there is nothing in Islam that requires women to go veiled. It is a cultural thing and one of the devises men in all parts of the world have used to try and control women like Chinese foot binding or denying women the right to vote as we did here until recently

If God had meant anybody to wear veils, He would have created this asset when creating Adam.

women wear veils to prevent men thinking lustful thoughts after seeing their bodies.

The veils are supposed to protect women from men's sick thoughts and stares and protect men from getting sexual thoughts in the presence of women.
I think their rationale is that men do not need protection from women, and that women do not have sexual thoughts like men do. In fact, in many Muslim cultures, women get their clitoris cut off in their early childhood with the idea to avoid them having sexual drive. I think female circumcision its ridiculuous and sick, an abomination to humanity. It has nothing to do with Islam but the men in those Islamic societies come up with these ideas...

Many Muslim men wear a head covering, just the same as some Jews do. Why not try and come up with an original or better yet an intelligent question.
