This question applies to those i know that constantly pray and read their holy book and just base their lives on prayer and God alone.

Yeah, it's certainly admirable.

But what's the point of God having given you life if you don't actually live?

If you're praying all the time and never really leave the house or whatever, have you actually proven your devotion to God? Or are you just scared that you won't pass any tests if you enter the real world?

I know i may get a lot of hate mail for this one.

But honestly... isn't there more to life than just praying? Shouldn't you be applying God into your actual life?

I don't know...

I totally agree, I can't help but think that if there is a God he'd want people to enjoy their lives rather than spending every waking minute worshipping him.

You are right that there is more to living your life for God than just praying and reading God's Word, the Bible. God gave us life to enjoy. In John chapter 2, Jesus, God's Son attended a wedding. There are many other examples in the Bible that show Jesus Christ was a very sociable person while He was on the earth.
Christians are to be lights in the world. We are, by our words and actions, to make people want the hope and joy we have. We have to be social and active to do this. Of course, a Christian is not be involved in immoral social activities.
You may have a misunderstanding of the Christian life. You may see it as dull and joyless; but can there be any greater challenge and privilege in life than following God's path for us? God's way is perfect, and He knows what is best for us. There is no higher calling than being part of God's family (John 1:12).

I challenge you to admit your sinfulness, seek God's forgiveness, and give control of your life to Jesus Christ. Don't be deceived by the promises of pleasure; they will only leave you empty. Let Christ show you the real meaning of life.

Another question to fog God's way. I love God with all my heart and I don't have to ignore my live for nothing, perhaps is a contradiction serving God ignoring your live, both stand next to each other. You can dance and love God at the same time, now if you are dancing with a beautiful lady and you are dancing with her for the mere reason of feeling her in your arms and to feel her body, there's the sin. You can have a couple of drinks and go home, but if you got drunk there's a sin; 1st drunkenness sicks your body and the body is the temple for the Holy Spirit and 2nd drunkenness change your personality by locking your inhibitions and this can make do things and sins you wouldn't ever do in your right senses. You can eat what ever you want, but in the right quantity, Why? Because the uncontrolled consumption of a different kind of food can hurt you or may kill you. Jesus went to parties and drank wine, you may have a normal live without temptations, these only happen when you aren't secure of your love for God. Can't you pray first to God and Jesus and then go for a good table of pool and 2 to 3 beers? I do, I know my limits as a human being, so does God. Perhaps I care for His opinion, no one else.

God gave us what is known as the Great Commission.

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
—Matthew 28:16-20, NIV

This would be hard to accomplish by never leaving the house. I didn't find your question offensive at all, and don't see why you should get any hate mail about it.

I'm agnostic here, but I really think that the answer is NO. Okay, in my opinon, going to heaven is a reward for living yourself a good life. Doesn't neccessarily mean you didn't sin, or you prayed every second of your life, or even got too religious. I hate it when people say that people who don't believe in God will go to Hell because that might not be true. How do we know there really even is a heaven or a hell? I mean.. is there scientific proof that once we die, our souls will go there? No. But hypothetically speaking, that'd be my answer: no.

First of all who gave you the idea that you cant live a happy life and still love God. Jesus is the Sun of God he was here to show us the way to go Dident He on one of His miracles change water into wine to keep the weddinf feast going , that dosent sound like someone who dodent want us not to have a good time. Take all the miracles He performed dont you think these people celebrated their good fortune when they were cured He made them happy . You can go on and have a wonderful life and still serve God Set a good example for others to follow and dont hurt people if you know something is wrong dont do it.Our sins have already been forgiven by He comming on earth and being cruisified so enjoy life pray to Him every day have fun good fun and help others and you will get to Heaven AC

God told us to make a balance between wordly n spiritual life. dont go to extrem of either. follow ur religion with wordly requirments....pray to God (spiritual) but work for that as it is needed in ths world. God never orders to just cut off from this world n turn towards him n spend all the time in praying...basic concept of our religion is "Balance" between the two.Worship Him n live normal life..

I used to talk about Gurus who hide in a cave for 20 years, and
then want to tell us how to deal with people. So many think
that the ultimate goal is to free themselves from this world and get to heaven. But I've learned the ultimate goal is to bring
heaven down to earth.
Salvation doesn't come from becoming perfect. But by accepting our imperfections. And learning how to forgive.
The true masters are right in the middle of things, and still
maintain themselves as set the example.

"But what's the point of God having given you life if you don't actually live?"

How I love to ask and let people who somewhat shut their life out of most things, understand this question. Thank you for asking this.

God, I believe, has given us a 'Life' to simply live in it and actually 'enjoy' it too.. only to feel a sense of fullfilment, once we have departed from this earth, as though we have 'learned' or 'accomplished' something or so much more out of this life that we've been given....

I guess people who choose to devote their life only to God and do everything in the name of God are happy... or have found their peace.

Many, many people have been/ struggled so much in life to get to that point where they have finally found their safe haven, and thus, continue to reach out to God alone.

That's why I wouldn't dare to tell them otherwise, or of what I think and so, leave them be.

as for me, I try to be persistent with whatever comes down my way...to Live and Let live.. and always to 'remember' that all this or whatever is bound to happen to me.. should be 'happening to me for a reason'...and a good one at that too.

and at the end of the day, it only matters that you have succeded to live a full and good life.

and we all just need to 'remember' that' to get us there.

YOU ARE TOTALLY RIGHT

As long as your trying your best not to disobey God you should be free to pray and serve God sometimes and make a better person of yourself in life other times. Obeying God doesn't contradict with being successful in life.

BELIEVERS SUCCEED!

God doesn't want for his followers to be LOSERS!

That should teach you TIME MANAGEMENT!
