Hi there !
You are doing the same mistake what other people do all over the world ....
Antacid is one of the most misused medicines in the world !
Try the following golden rules and see the difference !
1. Stick on to a strict diet regime.
2. Avoid / Reduce oily/ spicy foods.
3. "Small frequent meals" should be the best !
4. Dinner..make it ealier..not later than 8pm..!
5. More fruits and vegetables..
6. It is mentioned as whether you are taking
any "other" medications which is notorious
for inducing acidity ! If so, an opinion could
be sought from your physician too !
7. No smoking...No alcoholic drinks and stop
non-veg if you can !
Follow these for 15 days continuously and
changes for betterment are assured !
8. Take antacids...but if necessary only..
Wish you a speedy recovery !

I'd just spell out the issue for you in a calm manner. I'd let them all know exactly how I felt. I would personally take the time he is with them and do my own thing, but I'm more independent. My husband is spending thanksgiving 5 states away with his daughter and son, and I am spending my week alone, and going to a friend's house for dinner on thanksgiving. I have no problem with it, although I think my situation is unique in that I don't argue with his ex or have issues with his kids because they are out of the house now. If I were being accused of not wanting to be around them, I'd get kind of pissy. I'd say, "yes, when you ask me questions like that, and when they do not respect me, I don't want to be around them." and then walk away with that. One rule I Have had in my own home when his kids were teens, is that: This is our home his and mine, and while I do not discipline you, I will occasionally ask you to pick things up etc. Keep things neat. That's it. And it worked out fine. I refuse to feel like a stranger in my own home. I think that would be the point where I say adios. Good Luck. A lot to think through.

You shoud have it checked out by a doctor. You could have acid reflux, a stomach ulcer, or a bacteria in your stomach. If its not serious they can prescribe drugs that can control you acid levels like aciphex or prilosec, which a once a day pills.

Title : Hyper acidity problem
Question: I have hyper acidity problem and need to take grapefruit. Could you tell me exactly what is grape fruit in Hindi and how can it be taken in diet and any other acidity curing foods.
Ans: Grapefruit is "chakotra" in Hindi and "Babloose Naranga" (in Malayalam), It is easily available in the market. It is a citrus fruit. Bigger than orange. Grapefruit can be eaten raw or in the juice form. Take a tiny piece of jaggery every hour. Just keep it in mouth and slowly suck it till acidity subsides. Mint juice, watermelon juice and coconut water is also good.

Hmmm... I guess you should take FERN-C, it's a Vitamin C but alkaline based and NON-ACIDIC. Compared to acid based Vitamin C, it is more effective and will increase your immune system more faster. Visit this site: www.fern-c.com. I've been using this too and really helped me avoid getting sick. And it's safe to use even if you ask your doctor about it... c",)

From your question, it is not clear for how long you have been suffering from acidity; it is not advisable to take antacids for an indefinite period. I suggest you to undergo a thorough checkup, including an endoscopy (UGI endoscopy) before I can advise you about the treatment. This is essential to exclude an unlcer in your stomach and intestines. so please let me know the report of your endoscopy or consult a gastroenterologist., ie., a specialist in diseases of the digestive system.
