Photostory 3 by microsoft is free.
If you go to downloads.com, and go to the media manager (i think) section of graphics programs, there are a number of free ones listed. Photoshow Express is free ... but it lists (greyed out) all the features of the deluxe version to get you to buy it .... it's a decent basic program though, better than most of the other free ones.

I just went through looking for this kind of program this week. None of the free ones are very configurable, but they will do the job, if you don't want anything fancy.

I ended up buying some, and even these don't have the capability I want.

use power point ... that uses slides that you can add JPG images too and you can move from one image to another on the same slide or different slides using a variety of transactions e.g. fades, sliding, scrolling etc

if you have a digital camera the software would likely have a slideshow program in it. What about Powerpoint, that works and its easy to use. Unless you dont have powerpoint you can download the program for free on a torrent site.

Try down loading Webshots, I don't know if it is free though. This programme allows you to view your pics, use them as a screen saver and even uses a different pic every hour for your desktop wallpaper.
