hi. looking for one that makes a lower frequency. i can't hear the regular kind and i don't want to trust a flashing light to wake me up. prefer something battery powered so i don't have to install a lot of wiring. i'm not very handy.

yeah it's called ADT, one of those home security alert systems, I would imagine about the only way you could have a smoke alarm for the deaf person though would be to rig it to flash the lights in the house instead of an audible alarm

I was just looking at a web site for the deaf in Australia, they offer flashing smoke detectors (not sure what else they have). You should do a web search for deaf and hearing impaired societies in your area/country.

This link has good info on whats available

they manufacture smoke alarms that uses flashing lights, too alert a deaf person who is awake. For a deaf person who is asleep, the light is bright enough it will wake most people.

i'm no longer particular about smoke alarms, yet you would possibly want to opt to envision out canines for the Deaf. those are certainly service canines and may want to correctly be experienced to respond to issues alongside with conventional smoke alarms.

try this, buy THE CLAPPER and plug a lamp in the clapper, then plug the clapper into the wall outlet. do a smoke alarm test - if the lamp flickers then all is well....good luck....peace.
