We are designing the invitation ourselves and are thinking of using a semi-transparent B& W photo of us on the background. Maybe just for family and close friends that might like it and traditional for the more traditional guests? We didn't do an engagement announcement photo.

I think it gives a very nice, personal touch. I've always planned on doing that. I would send it to everyone you invite though, it is YOUR wedding after-all.

I would stick as closely to the "traditional" invitation as possible. If you really want your guests to have pictures of you and you fiance, then you shoudl get engagement photos done and put one in a small frame for each guest. Those will be great to use as centerpieces and will double as favors when the night is over.

Oh sure.. Hey its YOUR wedding

Id use the same one for all guests... really a tasteful photo will be nice change and a unique keepsake!

Its a good idea!

Congratulations!

yeah I'm all for the idea to put a picture on the invites. that would give each quest a better souvenir to share with other friends and family as time go on.

If you do a good job, Im sure that it would be wonderful. But Im also one for "traditional" is only for those who are stuck in the middle ages.

sounds a bit tacky to me.

It sounds beautiful! Do what you think is perfect for the day and stick to your guns. Just don't turn into Bridezilla!

Yes, it can look quite nice if you do it well - just really watch what kind of photo you use.

why not? I think it would be cool! My wife and I were thinking of doing that but we decided it would be cheaper with a regular invite.

For sure. And I suggest sending the same one to everyone.
