No, this is NOT legal. The van must of course have a food vendor license and be inspected by a health inspector. However, beyond this there are zoning regulations that prohibit commercial sales of any sort (food included) within a certain distance of a residential neighborhood. In my city, the required distance is 250 feet for food vendors. The allowable distance may vary, but no city with zoning regulations (virtually all of them) will allow commercial sales in its residential districts. Additionally, most residential neighborhoods with a homeowners' committee will have additional regulations against this sort of thing.

You can call the police and get the van removed, which will likely also get their vendor license suspended or revoked. However, if they are set up in a neighborhood, they probably don't have a legitimate license or inspection record to begin with.

you do not say the position you stay -uk or united states- uk inner most estates have regulations made by technique of the vendors/voters which persons ought to abide by technique of. in case you advise a common housing sources the position the line is maintained by technique of the council then probable there is little you would possibly want to do as parking outdoors your human being residence is amazingly favourite and not in any respect something to whinge about. perhaps notwithstanding he's breaking planning guidelines and operating a business enterprise from residing house which may no longer be allowed and also at the same time as no longer paying commercial expenditures!! Unruly youthful ones notwithstanding are some element to whinge about as those days they don't have any appreciate for peoples sources and could no longer be playing on the line besides. what type of ensure shall we youthful ones play in the roads those days. a concepts too risky from severe speed idiots.

YEP - check that he has the council certificates - then check if he the correct commercial certificates - the police can do that for you - they are usually quite hot on things like the correct insurances, state of the vehicle etc, is he causing a traffic hazard, obscuring road crossing, presenting a pollutuion hazard, causindg a littering nuisance, if he is a legitimate business then choke his demand off - make sure that people don't buy from him - after all he is only there to make money - if he doesn't - he will move on.

I don't think this is OK. I suspect that they don't have the proper council licence or hygiene certificates. So contact the council. I also bet that they are not declaring the sales to the tax man...ring the Inland Revenue/Customs & Excise & report your concerns.

Complain to the standard trading dep. of your council ,if he has got a licence they should have ask the residents; if he has to be moved on and fined so that he doesn't do it anywhere else !

You're kidding! You can't even phone the council all weekend to ask if they are legal. What an odd place to set up. Go out and disconnect his gas pipe at the back of his van!

If your complex is under developement, they have a liscense to sell. So long as they are not blocking traffic or your driveway there's not much you can do. Call the local 5-O and see what they say.

As long as they have a license from the council i think they can go where they want... Within reason!

You can go to the council and complain.

If they have enough complaints then the council should move them along!
