8You go to the Feast. I am not yet[a] going up to this Feast, because for me the right time has not yet come."

9Having said this, he stayed in Galilee.

10However, after his brothers had left for the Feast, he went also, not publicly, but in secret.

What is the fundie excuse this time? God works in mysterious ways? If Jesus lies, it is not a lie?

It is impossible for Jesus Christ to lie since He is God in the flesh. Jesus did not go to the Feast at the same time as His relatives. The passage doesn't tell us how long after His relatives went to the Feast Jesus went. We don't know how much time passed. We only know Jesus did not go at the same time as His family. The passage does not even hint at deception on the part of Jesus.

Being truthful does not mean that we are obligated to divulge all information to anyone who asks it of us.
"Do not give what is holy to dogs, neither throw your pearls before swine, that they may never.....turn around and ripe you open",warned Jesus at Mat.7:6.For example, individuals with wicked intent may have no right to know certain things.
Jesus did not always disclose the full truth, especially when revealing all the facts could have brought unnecessary harm to himself or his disciples.Still, even at such times,he did not lie,he chose either to say nothing or to divert the conversation in another direction.
In the instance you mention,Jesus knew it was not his time to die(the Jews were seeking to kill him)and while the Festival of Booths was very important to Jesus,he held off going publicly, but went in secret a few days later.
There was no lying.Jesus didn't disclose everything to them because they didn't need to know.

Come on now Alucard, you can do better than this. You are attempting to turn a very small piece of scripture into a debate. Jesus as others have said to you was not ready at that time and he stated as much. If I tell my son it's not time for me to show up at the party yet then an hour or two later I show up have I lied to him? No, I showed up exactly when I meant to show up. My time to go was not his time to go. That happens to us all the time. When he and his wife take their competion squad to Disney World for UCA nationals, I often go and watch. They drive down on Weds. night in a charter bus, the competition starts on Saturday, I drive or fly down to Orlando on Friday night or Saturday morning early. Why, because it is not yet my time to go. Did I lie to them? I think not! Peace out.

Jesus knew He was to die at Passover, not the Feast of Booths, which is what this passage is referring to. There were many already seeking his death, and his death would have been premature had he gone to the Feast of Booths.

BTW, I am not a fundie, I am a Catholic, and that, sir, is nothing to be afraid of.

Maybe at first Jesus wasn't hungry, then after they left he felt a little hungry and it was the right time to go to the feast.

No Jesus did no longer overlook the he's likewise the daddy, yet He grew to become into God in human flesh, the branch of God. the daddy God is Spirit and eating hearth, the Son God is God in human flesh or God whilst He turns into flesh so He can stroll between us. The Saints can't act as a pass between. basically one thank you to heaven and the throne of Almighty God and that's thru His Son Jesus the Savior of mankind. in case you will heaven you will get there basically by way of your Savior, Jesus the Christ. No other way. God does no longer lie. Jesus is God and God does no longer lie. i can't talk for all Christians, yet i will tell them that God hates a liar. Jesus additionally pronounced, "in case you have considered me, you have considered the daddy." Jesus additionally pronounced, "I and the daddy are One." Neither the saints, nor Mary, nor the Pope nor somebody can get you to heaven. Jesus is the only way. overlook Oprah or the different guy or woman that preaches a gospel diverse from the gospel of Jesus Christ and in the event that they do - enable them to be accursed.

Please read the last line of verse 8,
He said this because, the right time has not come yet.
In the second sentance also He said only "Iam not yet going up to the feast,"
So, He did not lie.

There is absolutely no lie in these verses. Better take remedial English before you get to college. Otherwise you're going to have a hard time getting your degree.

I'm not a bible reader, but if whoever he lied to bought the lie, maybe this comes to prove that Jesus was a perfect liar. He was perfect as a liar, too.
