Iam almost 21 year old , iam a female and i've been suffering with acne since i was 13 and now i get few pimples now and then , could be said as mild stage of acne i guess
Anyways..i am quiet and shy too , so it makes it hard for me to get to know people and all , but what seems to me is...that guys wouldnt really go out with girls with acne , thats what i see mostly...guys with acne get the girls but girls with acne dont and it makes me worry that i wont be asked out because of my skin issue.
Iam doing lots of treatments and things to make it go away , not like iam not trying , but is it true that girls with acne dont go on dates ?

It's not true. My skin's not clear and I have many dating opportunities. My looks are average but people are mostly interested in me because of my personality. I used to be shy to and I definitely notice the difference in how much attention I get now that I'm more open. Now,I'm not so naive to believe that guys go for personality over looks but if a guy sees a girl he likes he needs a sign. Guys need a signal that it's alright to approach you. So, don't worry to much about the acne, just be yourself and work on giving off pleasant energy. Maybe you can start off with eye contact and smile. That usually works for me even when I don't want it to. lol.

Yes, girls with acne get dates. Unfortunately, having acne at any stage in our lives plays havoc with our self-esteem. Be good to yourself...eat healthy and drink a lot of water. Do something that makes you feel good about yourself..whatever that is (ie..shopping, working out, etc). Focus on the positive and others will too. And when you run into the occasional guy that doesn't..forget him. He's not worth your time.

that is a myth. i like you am 22 and get the occasional breakouts and cover it up with make-up! draw attention from it vs. cake on a pound of make up and concealer and God knows what. look, just because you have a break out does not mean that you do not have the same chance to go out on a date! you need to like yourself for who you are even if you might get a break out and try something like Proactiv or Murad which will help with your self esteem and your confidence! a guy can go out with the prettiest girl but if she is dumb as a rock i think that he will say " check please" faster than the chef is cooking the meal. try the Murad solution kit found at places like Sephora and ULTA and i can guarantee you that it will make you feel better. and yes, girls with break outs still get asked out or go on dates: i mean i have a bf and he has seen me with breakouts but didnt break up with me because of that!just try theMurad, losen up from being so shy and in no time you will have a great self esteem and confidence-that is what a guy looks for, not if you have two zits on your face since that is the last thing he will notice! if you are still concerned about the way you look you can draw attention from you having a breakout!best of luck.

its not your acne thats stopping you from dating
you need to try and step out of your comfort zone and talk to more men and have fun
i have a little bit of acne, and was rather overweight when i was single, but i always had heaps of date offers as i was having fun when i was out, and thats attractiv to guys

Be confident, and try to cure yr acne step by step.
If it doens't work, you should see a derm.
