When the buddha was alive, many different people came to the buddha to debate with him thier points of view, there were so many people that eventually a guideline was put in place, that the only people that could speak were those that new from direct experience the turth of what they discussed, eventually the only person left speaking was the buddha.

Knowing that you don't know what is real is a step in the right direction. What is real is beyond human comprehension even after enlightenment.

Real is What exists no matter what we do or think or believe; our beliefs, emotions, and expectations make our physical/mental experiences in this "life" as we form it, but cannot affect or change Reality.
But "Real" Itself never changes, and the Buddha understood that. Those who came to debate him fell off until no one was left but the Buddha, because he did understand it, (while they did not); and more, he embodied it as fully as he could and still remain in the physical.

Real is when all your stuffing has been loved off and you no longer are new Its when life takes its tolll on you and you get something from even the hardest times- ONLY WHEN you see hear and read about other people and put the best lessons to good in your own life...do you become reAL!.

All reality is relative. If we believe it, then it becomes real to us...beyond this is perhaps outside all of our 'realities'...
