I have already written to the Office of the Clerk of the US Supreme Court. Perhaps others may wish to do the same. In this letter, I have notified the Court that the Constitution has come under attack. Since only enemies launch attacks, I have declared the President and the majority in Congress, who sent the Military Commissions Act to the President for his signature, to be "enemies of the Constitution". Since all public officials are sworn to "defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic," it is my hope that the Court will take action.

Here is an exerpt from the letter:

"Enemies of the Constitution include those who violate its provisions, those who seek to diminish its scope and reach, in the absence of an Amendment ratified by three-fourths of the States that constitute our Union.

"I understand that the Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that the terms of our Constitution are applicable not only to Citizens of the United States, but also to aliens on American soil.

"The Constitution states that “the Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.”

"The Military Commissions Act, which the President of the United States recently signed into law, purports to strip from certain aliens the Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus in the absence of either Rebellion or Invasion. The terms of the Military Commissions Act are, therefore, in contravention of the plain language of the Constitution of the United States. The Military Commissions Act violates the provisions of the Constitution of the United States, and seeks to diminish the scope and reach of that Constitution, in the absence of a duly-ratified Amendment. Therefore, the Military Commissions Act is an attack upon the Constitution of the United States.

"Only enemies launch attacks. By signing the Military Commissions Act, the President of the United States has shown himself to be an Enemy of the Constitution of the United States. By sending that Act to the President for his signature, a majority of both Houses of the Congress of the United States have shown themselves to be Enemies of the Constitution of the United States.

"Please accept this letter as notification that the Constitution of the United States has come under attack by its Enemies, and that these Enemies are in control of two Branches of the Government of the United States."

Ok a little history for the ppl that just like to rant and rave without knowing all the facts.......

That only applies to the Al-Qaeda prisoners that are been held overseas. Come to think of it is a pretty smart move since all those prisoners would actually clog up our judicial channels, with petitions and appeals.

The only time when Habeas Corpus was suspended in American History was during the civil war by president Abraham Lincoln.
I hope this clears up some of that "confusion"..........

George Bush is not the king of this country! He was elected by the citizens of this country and are suppose to be answerable to us. So far not the Senate or House or the citizens of this country has seen fit to hold him accountable for anything. We sat back like a lapdog and let him take away our right to know the charges against us. As for a panel to convene and determine if someone is an enemy, BUSH has the last word on this. If he says yes then it is yes, no matter what anyone else says.

I wasn't aware it'd been suspended for U.S. citizens. I thought that only applied to foreign nationals held in connection with the war on terror. I think that's appropriate to suspend it in their cases. I mean, how imperialistic would we have to be to try and enforce our laws and Constitution on citizens of other countries. Habeas corpus is for Americans. We really shouldn't be pushing our agenda down other people's throats.

it is not only bush, if we allow this we are all responsible. this is the act of a coward. it takes guts to be an american. life is tough and risky. remember it was the fbi and cia that let the perpetrators of 911 fly from coast to coast after the first bombing of the twin towers. remember that the russians and kgb told the feds who and what usama bin ladin was and is. but the government chose to give usama weapons. and took him under our wing because of our diffulties in the mideast in the 80` bush is an unamerican s o b. bush needs to be suspended, over alligators

If all our rights that make us proud U.S. citizens are gone, why even fight in wars? To preserve what? All we are doing right now is reacting to fear of something less likely to happen than what most people die from...heart disease, cancer, lack of preventative health care due to ridiculous cost of health care.

Come on people...we've all got brains...THINK! Overall, what I think about how Dubya is ruining our country...crap, we've got a lot of fixing to do!
