49 illegal immigrants arrested in Idaho sweep

BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is announcing that federal agents captured 49 illegal immigrants as part of a four-day sweep of southwestern Idaho.

The sweep, called Operation Return to Sender, is a continuation of a nationwide effort that has rounded up more than 2,000 illegal immigrants since June.

The arrested immigrants range in age from 17 to 66.

Nine women were captured.
31 of the immigrants have already been deported to Mexico.

I feel bad for the people of Mexico because of how they live. HOWEVER, I do NOT think it's right for them to just jump the border and come over here. They should go through the proper channels, learn at least some of the language and stop expecting US to adjust to THEM. You want to live here, fine. Adapt just as Americans must adapt when we relocate to another country. We wouldn't dare get off the plane in China and expect them to change all the building signs to English.

I honestly believe there should be laws made giving border patrol the authority to shoot anyone who so much as puts a toe across the border. Once some of them have seen their family members gunned down right in front of them, they might think twice about sneaking over here. It's the only way they will ever get the message.

The government needs to stop funding, and then fighting with the ACLU, and other organizations that want these illegal immigrants to have the same rights as American citizens.
I have questioned this, and have gotten good answers. ( see my profile, and blog for details).
Vote for a change in Government.

What does Legal and illegal mean? Well if you are in the USA illegally with no green card then you should be charged for breaking the law and sent home. It's just that simple.

I think it's good that the laws are being enforced and these people who did come here illegally are being deported.
With more then 10 million illegals here, it is disappointing that within 5 months only 2,000 have been deported though, Obviously more needs to happen.

This is a good start but until we secure our southern border they will just comeback. After we take care of our own citizens maybe we can help them but that will be years from now. If a single american citizen is homeless or dies of starvation then we cannot take care of other nations citizens.

and 29 of them are probably already back.. we are like a dog chasing its tail.. the border problem has to be addressed first.. if not its business as usual.. it should have been done before it became a political hot potato.. we turned a blind eye because it helped the rich become richer.. wealthy communities near Phoenix still employ them.. secure the borders or nothing will change.

My opinion is "yay."

I would not go where I am not welcome. I would be scared to violate laws, I wonder why they are not scared? Because so many of them get away with it. Hope they see these kinds of articles and start getting scared to violate our laws.
