explain to them why you want to be one in the first place, explain how you can be healtheir and how you will maintain your health. Becoming a vegetarian is more then just not eating meat, there are certain food you would need to eat to replace the vitamins and minerals contained in meat. If you are afraid of your parents making fun of you, maybe its better if you wait until you are out of the house to become one. No one says you have to eat all the meat thrown at you, I am sure you could phase meat out by doing a little research on the negative effects of some meats rather then going with the I want the cows to live speech. Personally its nice and all, but more animals living is more oxygen being sucked up, more methane being produced, and so on and so forth. Where as vegetarians are killing off the plants who provide us with oxygen and various other items. So in the end it all depends on your point of view.

Wel umm just tell em straight out, and if they dont want to respect youre decision well thats too bad youre the one thats gonna be a vegetarian not them, When i became a vegetarian my family constantly made fun of me because they thought that it was funny how i didnt belive in killing animals just to eat them, they said i was dumb, and my mother constantly told me that i was crazy, Dont listen to anythung negative they have to say, if they dont want to support you, then thats fine, im sure youll do fine on youre own, Congrats on deciding to be a vegetarian!!

Well it is pretty simple basically you tell them that you do not feel comfortable eating meat any longer and that you have decided to become a veggie and you hope that they will respect your decsion and love you regardless.

In my case, I just got a free vegetarian starter kit from PETA and showed it to them. They got the message, I never really told them.

Simple, just eat vegetables infront of them, and if they ask why? Then just tell them you're a vegetarian. Then ask them why they eat meat? Then you'll find out... c",)

If you're not old enough and confident enough to just tell them, you're not old enough to make the choice. If you want them to treat you like an adult, act like one.
