Is it difficult to obtain U.S. citizenship?

I was born in Canada; however, I have lived in the USA my entire life (minus the first 6 months of my life). I'm 40 years old, if it matters. I know nothing of Canada or its history. What are the steps necessary to obtain U.S. citizenship?

Go to the USCIS Website and check for Naturalization . After you applied and your legal status is proofed it takes between 6-12 month. . Here is the link

You can apply for USC if you lived 5 years with a permanent resident card in the usa or after 3 years if married to an USC.
