Drinking, gambling, drugs, the same old lessons that I can't seem to learn and now I'm 30. Too old. Must grow up or I'm going to kill myself.

You know , my dad says that you have a long while to make the mistakes that you often make, to explore different things you like to do, and soon you will land and be somebody and contribute to your family, your children, and to the society.
It's okay that you have messed up a few times. That's life for you. But the important thing is that you must grow out of it and realize that it isn't how you want to be.
My dad said it is not good if you keep messing up after 30. I think that makes sense. After all, time does pass you by if you don't make much of it.

No one can change a person. Only the person can change himself. YOU want to change because you realize you need to.
YOu must realize that you need to DO THINGS NOW to affect your future positively.
Or. You can be 40, then 50 and doing the same thing.

It is not too late now because you just turned 30. Just start working on changes. Good luck to you. Use your support system. They are there if you are serious.

i know i do, i find comfort in doing such things as drinking as an escape from the real world! I finally had to realize that I just need to face my problems, and they don't lie in the bottom of a vodka fifth!

only you yourself can help you.nobody will help you.there are so many thngs which gives you far more better pleasure!!!!!!!!!!!!donot fetch such silly and cheap way of relaxation .try to meditate ,its a treasure of peasure that never ends.........

Sounds like you have an addictive personality. Try counseling. It can help plus they have meds now that can help with this.
