Do you think that insanity could be a natural self defense in a body as a way to cope with outside experiences that may otherwise interfere with life? Like people can drive someone inter utter insanity and madness, but do they become insane as a relief from being tormented like that? Do they lose their ability to know their insane as a way to cope?

First I think you have to better define insanity as it can stand for many mental diseases. I have heard it said that nearly 85% of the population is suffering from some mental disorde or another. Insanity is a internal experience that utterly destroys ones life. I belive that the insanity you mean is disrubtion of normal schemias. This can be done to anyone by conditoning and after leaving the abnormal schemia the person will be disoreanted thinking you quite as insane as you them.
