When i ask this, i don't mean getting pregnant or anything.. just a shoulder to lean on and a person to call when you're feeling down.

No, very immature, lack of knowledge, vulnerable to insults, injuries, health, if you get hurt bad, you are going to say "All guys are the same". AND THEY ARE NOT! However, as you stated, a person to lean on and call should be all right as long as things between you can keep cool. If you really are 12, you should first, do some research on relationships and ask mommy or daddy dearest for advice. If not them, then someone else. There are tons of things out there that perhaps you have yet to learn. You will get there though.

12 is too young to be concerned with dating. A person so young does need friends to laugh & cry with, and to have around for support. Dating, however, takes things to a more mature, intimate level that a 12 year old should not be focused on. Dating takes time, energy, & comprimise...there's plenty of time for that later ...just be easy & innocent for a few more years. You'll have the joys & headaches of dating soon enough.

If u really don't have anyone to lean maybe your choice is right but before doing it think the people who care for u because they might help u . Because I had the same feeling and I am 12 years old too but my best friend helped me to change the mind.

This just sounds like you need a friend. If you are 12 you won't understand this but.......at 12 years old you are not mature enough to "date" in the sense of adult dating. Sure it is fun to have a "boyfriend" or "girlfriend" at school, but you need to form strong bonds with your parents and friends if you need someone to trust when times get hard.....

No. Shoulders to lean on and a person to call are what friends are for.

I think a twelve year old is too young to date, although I think they could meet at an public event and talk on the phone. I think they can even go to each others homes for a visit as long as there were parents there.

12 years previous is waaayy too youthful as much as now. She's in one 6th-seventh grade? She must be centred on having exciting and doing properly at school formerly coping with the issues of dating. :p

HELL NO!!!!!!!

He he he he. If you feel you need to talk to someone, friends are also a good source of support. try that, it's very good, and friends have your best interest in mind, always. Make some friends, make MORE friends. You will have plenty of time for dating in the future, and it never goes out of style.

no. not going out with out someone with the two of you. but to have come to your house and talk to on the phone then yes i think that would be okay. but every parent is different if your parents do not think you should try to show them that you are mature enough and responsible and you wont do anything wrong
