I work in a restaurant in a small town preparing greasy fried nasties and tasty gravy for local inbred, redneck types. If I am helping to hasten their death by promoting premature dietary related illnesses caused by unhealthy eating, can I consider myself as one who is doing God's work?

The Bible says, "You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!" [Psalm 139:16]

If we are to believe the bible, and indeed the whole 'omniscience' thing which enforces predestination, then everything that can possibly happen to anyone is part of the plan. Every stillborn, every genocide, it has all happened according to some master 'book' which states when people are born and when the die.

So, if if this particular part of religion has anything to say about it, don't worry. You can go out and kill as many people as you like, because God knows and has decided the moment they will die. You are merely an instrument in enforcing it.

You can consider yourself a detrament to society and life for shortening the lifespans of humans. As for this God business I can't help you there that's something you'll have to decide for yourself.
Do some research pick up a science book.

Well, that certainly an interesting perspective although the people that eat there obviously have free will and the choice of eating somewhere else, so their death isn't really on your hands.

God is love -- God even loves the inbred redneck types. It's a paradox, I know. I can't explain it, but I know it's true.

I would think, "fry cook" is a better description, but if "god's little helper" turns you on, go for it.
