Try strawberry or peach preserves, not jelly, smuckers is what I use. Also jello pudding any flavor will do, but try and complement your pudding to the cake flavor such as white chocolate to devils food. You can also boil some granny smith apples till they are soft and add about a 1/2 cup of sugar, this is a very rich and sweet cup cake; Use only granny smith or Arkansas black apples if you use others then you will get an apple sauce texture and your cupcakes will not rise. Also always bake your cakes at 325 not 350 like the box says you end of with a more moist cake and less crumbs. Just experiment everyone has different tastes and like different things so just be brave and try it. I hope this helps.

Lani, here are some of the prettiest cupcakes I've ever seen. The fillings & toppings are quite different. Check out the Ricotta Raspberry Almond Cupcakes with Citrus Meringue Frosting. YUM. (I've always liked the devil's food cream-filled Hostess(?) cupcakes with chocolate icing and vanilla squiggles on top.)

I dont know about a cup-cake mix....but my aunt always tells me that when i am about to bake a cake that i should put 8 oz. of Sour Cream into the mixture and it will make the cake the moistest cake you've ever had..i would think that it would work the same for cup-cakes.....and as far as putting stuff inside of the cup-cakes, i dont think that i've ever seen a cup-cake with anything in it....sorry i could not help more...

Ohh! Oh! Dark Chocolate! Definitely chocolate. And with that, adding a little cinnamon is never bad. YOu can also use some dried mint leaf flakes, but don't use mint and cinnamon at the same time. Peace!

ooh, ooh! Try Nutella with chopped hazelnuts or slivered almonds! Or...A little orange zest, maple syrup, and cinnamon. Chocolate addict? just stuff a hershey's kiss in the middle. Anti-chocolate but love stuffing? Use cream cheese instead (you could use melon-baller). Good luck. I wish I had time to try all these ideas but they never stop coming!

Add some vanilla pudding to the mix..it adds flavor and helps the cake to be soft and fluffy..good luck...you could also try fresh strawberries...that are diced..or banana's.
